Calling all artists or collectives (any medium) inspired by Black musical artists, forms and genres from across the Americas (specific? Sure but it could be you)! 📸 credit below . Following the British Library’s 2024 exhibition Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music, the Eccles Institute is offering the opportunity for a creative to immerse themselves in the Library’s collections of Black music from the Americas, and create new work in any art form based on what they discover. An initial period of collections-focussed research and development based at the British Library from September 2026 will be followed by a period for the creative fellow to create a new body of work, learn new skills and develop a public engagement programme to share the output of the fellowship in collaboration with the Eccles Institute team. Stipend of £7,500 and production/public engagement budget of up to £3,000 - details on the website, search for “British library black music Americas creative fellowship opportunity”. Thanks Nadine Patel for the heads up. . 📸 Installation shot of the exhibition Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music held at the British Library in 2024. © Terna Jogo, 2024

Great to be at the opening of David Bowie: You’re Not Alone @_lightroomldn - so many songs I’d forgotten about to dig out again (including I’m Afraid of Americans which I’m surprised not to have heard more recently). Lovely to see you @jakeshears and thank you @stephdittmer x

The fifth season comes to an end with two big shows. Comment “PODCAST” and we’ll send you the link to the episode. 🌟 Noah Jupe and Sadie Sink, play Shakespeare’s star crossed lovers in Robert Icke’s take on Romeo and Juliet at the @haroldpintertheatre 🌟 Aidan Turner and the peerless Lesley Manville revive Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the @nationaltheatre under director Marianne Elliott 🌟 Nick Curtis talks to veteran stage and screen actor Henry Goodman about his return to Arthur Miller for a revival of @thepriceldn as well as what it was like to actually work with Miller. 🌟 Eleanor Worthington-Cox @elle_wc answers five questions including one of the best (or maybe worst) onstage mishaps we’ve heard so far 👀 🫣 We’ll be back soon for another season...in the meantime there may be some bonus content dropping into your feeds on Instagram and Youtube 😉
