Today is all about mapping out the parts, packing the tools, and getting everything ready for three full days of hands-on making.

Excited to present my new audiovisual performance Echoes Between Seeing this Saturday at the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen! Programmed by @shinytoysfestival
Created in collaboration with sound artist Robert Kroos @robert_kroos_duckfood , this ongoing performance unfolds in the space between the real and the generative, the seen and the imagined.
Since 2022, I’ve been experimenting with combining my abstract experimental analog footage with image generation in Stable Diffusion, exploring how perception stitches together fragments of experience — filling the gaps with memory and imagination.
I’m very excited to finally share the outcome.

Oscillation in sight #2, showing as a work-in-progress yesterday at WORM as part of the Spectral Project Residency Program. The footage was filmed using my DIY 16mm motion camera and will be projected on a 16mm Motion Picture Panorama. This unique panoramic projection device, featuring multiple synchronized 16mm projectors, is a long-realized dream of film technician Nico Komen. Each year, Erwin van ‘t Hart and Filmwerkplaats members set it up once or twice for maintenance, and I’m seizing this rare opportunity to learn more about its mechanics and explore new visual possibilities. I will continue experimenting on color prints and improve the motion of the imagery oscillation and hopefully will present it again in 2025.

After a week of testing printing and adjusting the printer in the lab @filmwerkplaats there are some promising results for the first prototype of the DIY 16mm Contact printer.
Still need to adjust the position of the roller and the tension system to make it better. The result can be compared with a Model C printer but it could be a way smaller, lighter, and cheaper alternative for labs and individual practitioners.
This project is part of the SPECTRAL Device research, so I have until 2025 to improve it.
