Elisabeth Kužovnik lühifilmi “Stiina” režissöör jagab kuidas ta näitlejatega töötab ning mis on tema jaoks oluline loomingu juures.

1. Stiina is a story about a mother who has to apologize to her child for the first time ever.
2. In preparation for the movie, actress Liisa Saaremäel spent time in character, doing things Stiina would do prior to the events in the film.
3. For rehearsals, I prepared a work interview for a babysitting job, sent her grocery shopping with a limited amount of money — feeling the judging eyes of people behind her waiting for her to count her coins faster — and had her spend the night before the shoot on location to get familiar with the space.
4. The kids in the movie were wonderful to direct. Despite the tight and hot conditions of a small apartment, they handled everything like real pros.
5. We were lucky to be able to shoot and eat at the best Armenian restaurant in the country, Ašot in Kohtla-Järve, which is now sadly permanently closed, but whose eggplant salad I still dream about.
6. Ida-Virumaa provided us with other great locations, which surprisingly resembled my hometown, Pärnu. I was searching for spaces authentic to my own experience.
7. The family’s apartment was a blank canvas that was transformed by our art director, Kaia, into a world of its own, rich with small details.
8. To me, one of the most important elements in filmmaking is creating a world that breathes on its own, so whatever the actors need to convey is supported by the surroundings.
