The first and last time I got to visit my Mom’s hometown happened to be the first time my Mom and her siblings were together for the first time since my grandfather passed (since like before I was born).
I grew up thinking I didn’t have much of an extended family, not even really knowing the ones I photographed above until this trip. You wouldn’t be able to see the layers of emotion and history that allowed this meeting to happen just through these. What an honor to have been there at the right place at the right time.
Hearing the stories of my Mom’s family, understanding an unseen side of why my mom is who she is was one of the most imprinting experiences I’ve had in my life so far. What a blessing is it to see our generational trauma heal in my lifetime.

I had the pleasure of photographing the BTS of @marixkarolina ‘s upcoming music video directed by @jess.vrooman . Stay tuned… the world’s not ready for what they have coming ;)
say hello to the team @junewinebk 😎
truly one of the friendliest teams I’ve worked with, their good vibes come through louder than my ability to take a good photograph in these shots 📸✨
