What does Chinese food in Canada say about our country? More than most people realize. Through immigration, adaptation, resilience, entrepreneurship, creativity, and cultural confidence across generations, our stories reflects how communities evolved from fitting in to standing out. This Asian Heritage Month, NAAAP Toronto brings together some of the most respected chefs and culinary voices to explore how Chinese cuisine transformed from small-town café staples into one of the country’s most dynamic culinary movements. Our sincere thanks to our outstanding speakers for making the evening so rich and memorable: Wiley Wei Chiun Ho; Amélie Nguyen of @anhandchi ; Melissa Lee from @chinesecanadianmuseum ; Dr. Alexei Titov of @anyvisa.startup ; Ky Co; BC Asian Restaurants Cafe Owners Association; Rebecca Pang of RBC; June Chen-McIntyre of Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society; @naaapto Chapter President Ben Hum; MC Jeanne Chen; and moderator/board director Margarett Lange. We are also deeply grateful to our Board of Directors and Advisors for the unity, leadership, and support behind this launch. Special thanks to Sue Au-Young, Vivian Ching, Iven Tse, Allan Cho, Merryjoy Nicolas, Stan Lowe, Ky Co, Samson Wu, and Gary Ma. From those who were present on the evening to those who supported behind the scenes and from afar, this event reflected the shared spirit and commitment of NAAAP Vancouver. There’s a difference between being successful… and being influential. The Aspire to Lead Summit is where that gap gets real. Leadership, Power, Representation, Civic engagement. Not buzzwords—real conversations with leaders who’ve been in the room. If you’re ready to think bigger about your path to the C-suite—and your role in shaping Canada—this is where it starts. https://acctfoundation.ca/summit/
