Each BBQ Cooking Contest team must bring its own charcoal, lighting vehicles and cooking utensils, as no gas grills are allowed in Rengstorff Park. Each BBQ Cooking Contest team must bring and cook at least 5-6 pounds of pork and at least 5-6 pounds of chicken. The chicken can be breast, thighs, legs, wings or any combination of cuts. Similarly, the pork can be chops, loins, shoulder, ribs, or any combination. It’s up to you! The meats can be marinated before the competition. The meats cannot be cooked ahead of time, as they must be cooked on one of the existing Rengstorff Park grills. Each BBQ Cooking Contest team will be assigned a grill separate from the other teams. All BBQ Cooking Contest team members should arrive at 9:30 a.m. to set up the grill and begin cooking at 10:00 a.m. and must be finished by 12:00 noon. The meats should be sliced and prepared for judging by 12:15 p.m. Judging will be done by the Picnic attendees. The BBQ Cooking Contest team members can vote also, but not for their own items. Cash prizes will be awarded to all participating BBQ Cooking Contest teams, based on the best
