It’s not often you get to take a trip down memory lane on the job, which is why I had to be sure to attend Dragon Boat Community Day at Lake Merced with @cyc_sf !
As a former member of the CYC and Lincoln High School Dragon Boat programs, I’m proud to be able to participate in this tradition that brings our community together.
Thank you @apasf and @cdba.norcal for joining in celebration of Dragon Boat Racing in San Francisco during AAPI month.
And of course, thank you Jaynry Mak, CYC Board Chair, and our incredible event organizers Mabel Jung, Dorothy Yeung, CYC Executive Director Sarah Wan and APA Heritage Foundation President Claudine Cheng.
Proud to join the #sanfrancisco @apasf & @cyc_sf Dragon Boat Festival today celebrating #culture, #teamwork, and community spirit along our beautiful waterfront.
Dragon boat racing is about more than competition. It represents #unity, #resilience, #discipline, and people moving forward together with one shared #purpose, #values that continue to make San Francisco strong.
Excited that our #sfsheriff team will also be joining the tournament alongside community partners and paddlers from across the region.
Thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, #athletes, and #families for bringing such incredible #energy and cultural pride to our city.

The phoenix has awakened.
We were grateful to gather with community members, partners, and our Dragon Boat community this morning to celebrate this important milestone. Thank you to Mabel Jung, Dorothy Yeung, APA Heritage Foundation President Claudine Cheng, CDBA President Chris Chang, District 4 Supervisor Alan Wong, District 11 Supervisor Chyanne Chen, Sheriff Miyamoto and members of the Sheriff’s Department, and everyone who helped make this moment possible.
Having a permanent home for our boats and a continued presence in the community means a great deal to our team and youth.
Continue celebrating with us next month at the San Francisco Dragon Boat Festival on June 13, 20, and 21. Learn more at dragonboatsf.com.

Emceeing the 22nd Annual AAPI Heritage Month Community Gala Reception at San Francisco City Hall!
To share the stage and the steps of the City Hall with my fellow AAPI performers and artists: what a night! What a celebration!
I’m honored, grateful, belated: there are no words that can express how meaningful it was for me. I will always cherish this!
Thank you @apasf@chengclaudine@rosechungsf@thomofmylife@aperezsf for having me.
