WHATS THE BIG DEAL ABOUT RESISTANCE?

We, Pamela and Benze, invite you to a teaser version of Crocheting Beyond Fears. CBF is a longer workshop format where we gather with other artistic practitioners to discuss on power-critical work environments and exchange tools to disrupt harm from positions of less power. As we weave through these difficult topics, we hand-crochet colorful recycled materials into a giant, cozy blanket.
CBF started when we were students in ZZT from our need to create collective spaces of reflection and resistance: we are excited to invite you on Thursday 16th of April from 16-18, to a space filled with cozy colorful material. Together we will hand crochet and dive into a collective reflection on the artistic work and study environments we move through. We will create a space where your own concerns around your experiences of power disbalances, consent, boundaries, and other burning topics will arise while introduce the practice of hand-crocheting. Bring coziness, curiosity and desire to connect. This space is speficially designed for people in positions with less power.
What do we mean by “positions with less power”? Working in the independent dance scene often involves a variety of roles: sometimes we work as dancers, sometimes as choreographers, and sometimes as teachers, so it’s often not possible to simply label us. That’s why we ask you to think about where you see yourself or from which perspective you’d like to approach this workshop.
We are preparing a format called Messy Talk inspired by WhistleWhileYouWork.
For that we need a minimum of 6 participants in the space.

The more they embrace the transformation and distance themselves from the outside world, the more their relationship becomes a rebellion against societal expectations. Can we create a community that welcomes the strange, the animalistic, and the non-normative?

Durational Lecture Performance
22.03.2026, 11:30–17 Uhr, LVR Landesmuseum Bonn
Die Performance erzählt von Zukünften aus der Perspektive lokaler Arbeitswiderstände. Nicht als Mythen, sondern als Politiken des Handelns in einem Technofeudalismus, in dem digitale Plattformen und Big-Tech-Unternehmen zunehmend wie feudale Machtzentren agieren. Zwischen Smartphones, Glitches und Medieval Core hinterfragt die Performance die vielbeschworene „Zukunft der Arbeit“. Grundlage sind Texte, die gemeinsam mit Arbeiter*innenkollektiven, Gewerkschaften und Aktivist*innen entwickelt wurden. Wo immer wieder von „schönen neuen Arbeitswelten“ und scheinbar autonomen Maschinen die Rede ist, bewegt sich die Performance durch ein permanentes Mittelalter.

The last months have been immensely beautiful and very challenging at the same time. Two weeks ago, my first stage production 𝑳𝑷 premiered at @tanzhausnrw and I still can’t fully believe it. I’m so deeply moved by what we created together. I’m still digesting and reflecting on everything that happened, both on and off stage. Biggest thank you to my team and all the effort and love to detail you put in ꨄ and to the team of tanzhaus, especially @lucie_ortmann@schausomat and @marishaai ꨄ I really hope we get to bring this piece to many more stages.
For now, the next performances will be in Cologne (Kalk), in a more experimental setting at @cccc.cologne . This edition will be something special and a little challenging. Stay tuned for more info and grab your tixxx (link in bio).
