Set in a close-knit rural community in the West of England, Ghost Orchid echoes how stories, secrets, and grief travel through generations of a farming family. Expect shared listening, atmospheric lighting, and a powerful sense of place.

What if theatre could be tailored to you? The Grinning Man project explores how VR makes that possible 🎭
What makes theatre so powerful is often the subtle connection between performer and audience- a glance, a shared moment, a sense of presence.
Using a motion captured performance of Labyrinth, a standout song from The Grinning Man musical, this project reimagines a traditional one-to-many performance as a one-to-one experience. By incorporating real-time audience data, the system adapts the actor’s performance to each individual viewer.
The result is an intimate encounter that moves beyond passive viewing, where audiences don’t just watch, but feel part of the performance ✨

Our Virtual Production Skills Bootcamp is officially wrapping up and what a journey it’s been.
This was our third cohort, and we’ve now supported 140 local freelancers to step inside a virtual production volume and level up their skills.
The creativity. The energy. The storytelling... the quality of work has blown us away.

What is a Smart Cinema? 🔊
“A smart cinema isn’t just a cinema,” explains Emilia Quistelli, studio technician at the pioneering MyWorld Smart Cinema. “It allows you to dig deeper into audience research and what they are really thinking and feeling in an immersive experience.”
The 36-seat cinema can gather a huge amount of audience data. Eye-tracking, thermal imaging, heart rate and skin response can all be monitored, offering rare insights to help shape the future of directorial and production approaches as well as the creation of new content.
Alongside cinema-grade projection, the Smart Cinema also boasts a Dynaudio Acoustics M-Series Atmos monitoring system, with a huge 36 speakers in total - three M3FX screen channels, three MA18 subs and 30 MF30s covering the surround and height positions.

With Aardman, the aim wasn’t to replace handmade stop motion, but to protect it 🎬
MyWorld and Aardman’s Virtual Production at Model Scale project explored how mixed-reality tools could support stop-motion workflows without tipping fully into digital.
By embedding R&D directly on the production floor, the team worked closely with artists and crews, gathering practical feedback from the people making the work.
The outcome was a set of hybrid workflows that keep clay, puppets, and tactile storytelling central, while enabling greater ambition in an increasingly pressured industry.
The future of production lies in approaches that respect craft while expanding what’s possible.
New technology doesn’t have to replace tradition. Done right, it can strengthen it 🧩🧠

Together with young people in Knowle West, we created Street Lighter — an LED game about play, light and community.
From coding LEDs to designing the rules, to The Factory’s Chris Ingram designing and building the housing and LED loft tangle - this was a Knowle West co-design seasonal fun.
Seeing the whole street gather round to play — next to Ian & Anne’s amazing festive lights — was pure magic. 🎄💛
