In a last-ditch effort to finish their assignment in time, three mismatched teenage girls summon the spirit of Karl Marx to help them with their history presentation on the man himself. Despite having left it to the last minute, this first hand account will surely give them the edge they need to win their school’s highest honour - The Award. During their seance, Marx possesses one of the girls, and is now determined to resurrect his communist dream within the age of hyper-consumerism, AI, and #ads. An analysis on the arcane nature of girlhood and capitalism, ‘Scooby-Doo’ meets ‘The Craft’. This is Group Assignments Gone Wild. Led by award nominated theatre maker Henry Kelly, this project is in collaboration with a hand selected ensemble of queer, femme artists. Storked: the only baby I will ever birth into this world. This show was fucking awesome. I am so insanely proud of myself and the entire team. To be making the queer feminist art I always dreamed of, with a production team behind me, has been such a pinch me moment. Art is never made in a vacuum, and I could never have put this show on without the love, care, and talent of all involved. This cast — oh my god. What a dream. Everyone is so insanely talented - I learnt from each and every one of them. To work with creatives who truly want to devise and get fucking weird with it is such a privilege. And the magic that comes from a true, cohesive ENSEMBLE. Actually cream my jeans. And to work with several practitioners who I have revered for literal YEARS, to have them working with my words - I have no idea how I got this lucky. This show took a few of my performer virginities: - first 3 way kiss on stage - first time being absolutely butt naked on stage (talking cloaca OUT) - first time having my work produced by not me - first time getting a 5 star review - first time truly believing in myself - let’s face it, I basically came out on stage - as what, I’m not yet sure I’m not quite sure what the future of this show is, but I know for a fact I’m not done with it - in fact, I’m just getting started... So I suppose all this to say: I made postdramatic feminist theatre and all I got was this stupid t-shirt.
