After the Slime Mould Study Club turned out to be such a joy, we’ve decided to keep the momentum going with something equally strange and wonderful: lichens!
Once again we’re keeping it pretty informal. You’re welcome to do as many or as few of the readings as you’d like, join the weekly call for a chat or just listen in.

(If you saw us launch this in the newsletter with the wrong link yesterday, no you didn’t 🤡)

💖🥂 Big gay mushroomy THANK-YOU for everyone who joined us to celebrate our 5th birthday today! We are so very lucky to have such a lovely community alongside us for this journey x
A few pics from the first inks & dyes Rooted session, taken by botanical alchemist @nellsmithprints 🧙♀️🌸
We’ve slowed right down for these sessions, focusing less on ecological skills and more on creative practice as a means of supporting wellbeing. We’ve noticed small details on wild walks, made our own recycled paper and combined foraged materials with science magic to produce inks & dyes.
We’ve got a couple of last minute spots available for this queer wellbeing programme! If this sounds like your jam, grab your free spot on our ticket tailor.
Super lovely springtime foray at our annual wild garlic forage & ferment today 🍃 thanks to everyone who came and made it so lovely, even with the sporadic hail!
In February, we ran our first study club, exploring the fascinating + gooey world of slime moulds.
We've now decided to make our reading list for the club freely available for anyone who wants to go on their own slime mould research adventure. Head to the below link/scan the QR code for our reading list of articles, blog posts, videos and podcasts exploring this intriguing tiny world.

Belated thank-you to all the SENSATIONAL volunteers who've been to our fermentation volunteer sessions over the last few months. We've been able to process many hefty boxes of brassicas into tasty sauerkraut for use in community meals at @plattfields_marketgarden , and had a lovely time doing it 💪🥬
Hi! We’re sick of social media!
A few years ago we put a lot of energy into ~feeding the algorithm~ and ~building our audience~ and ~creating content~. But it’s just so much work! And it feels gross to invest so much of ourselves into these platforms that are so saturated with lies and ads.
So this is just a little message to say: we’re officially not trying to do anything fancy on here any more. We’re not disappearing or moving anywhere else and will keep posting events etc. But we’d love to have you on our mailing list if you aren’t already.
Our newsletter goes out every month or so and has info about what we’re up to. If you’d like to stay in touch with us, that’s your best bet. And if you want to work with us: please email rather than DM!
For an algorithm-free future 🩷🍄🟫
Spring is coming! And that means wild garlic!
For our 3rd year (!) in a row, we’re running a wild garlic forage & ferment day. These have become one of our fave events: we go for a walk round the gorgeous Fletcher Moss, chat about foraging and snap up some wild garlic before heading back to @plattfields_marketgarden for a nice communal fermentation session. Each attendee takes home two jars of tasty funky goodness.
Only 12 spots so snap your spot while you can 🧄✨
