Are you a teacher, facilitator, or breathwork enthusiast? Are you passionate about evolving, growing, and showing up for yourself and others in a way that’s grounded, confident, and rooted in authenticity? This training + immersion is an initiation into the living lineage of the breath. It is a passage designed to anchor you in presence, integrity, and embodied wisdom, so that you may hold others with safety, clarity, and confidence as they journey inward. It is all about the nervous system. Through guided, and self-exploration, you will learn how to lead 1:1 + group breathwork sessions using: up-regulating breathwork techniques, breath retentions, down-regulation techniques, and a variety of pranayama practices. We will take time to explore, through direct experience how these practices affect, regulate, and harmonize the autonomic nervous system. Co-facilitated by LA-based sound alchemist Raquel Barrantes @innocentlywild_ we will also explore integrating live sound (through instruments, music, and voice) and how specific sound frequencies attune to the elements and chakras This summer, at @gaiavillajoshuatree located in Joshua Tree, CA. Holding the breath at the bottom is a different story Because CO2 is rising faster and oxygen is dropping quickly, the urge to breathe is more present Relaxing into it is the key. Practice refines the key What is accessed, felt, experienced, or revealed is a personal and unpredictable experience I believe it’s a space where truths reside. Holding at the🔝 Where you retain/hold your breath matters! Naturally, when we hold our breath at the top of an inhale it’s typically due to feelings of excitement, fear, or shock. Or nervous system kicks into sympathetic mode: fight, flight, or freeze So why practice this? My belief is that, during a breathwork practice, when we consciously step into sympathetic mode + heighten it by retaining on full it can provide one the opportunity to be able to train and practice remaining calm, grounded, and present while being in an activated state Why does that matter? The more we can self regulate while living in the beauty and the madness that surrounds us in this world, including people, places, and events, the better. Do you agree? Holding on full can also support ones focus, energy, and enthusiasm And, at the end of the day, you’ve got a practice it on your own to find out what works for you. Through guided breathwork, meditation, and live sound, we’ll soften the noise of the mind, expand space for clarity, and gently attune the nervous system to a more harmonious rhythm. Together, we will breathe, we will settle, and we will come back into coherence. The meditations will emphasize integrating five healthy breathing qualities as referred to in the Vishoka meditation tradition. The awareness and application of these qualities are foundational tools for any meditation practice, as well as life. We will close with tea and quiet integration, allowing the practices to steep and settle within. Come as you are. Leave feeling grounded, luminous, and renewed to take on the rest of your day.
