A Louisiana resident who identified himself as Marshawn delivered a fiery, emotional speech to lawmakers during a state Senate hearing over redistricting Monday, accusing Republicans of trying to “cheat” Black voters out of political power.
“The MAGA party is the last breath of the Confederacy,” he told lawmakers. “If y’all could give us less than zero seats, you would do it.”
Marshawn’s testimony came as Louisiana Republicans advance a new congressional map after the Supreme Court weakened key protections in the Voting Rights Act.
“There will be no more of your party,” he said. “The midterms gonna come, y’all gonna get wiped out,” he said.

Went to see my darlings @arcostanzo , @alsoanoperasinger , and @nickythespence in the @philipglass opera #satyagraha at @palaisgarnier tonight. Incroyable!!! During the standing ovation les douchebags behind us were yelling SIT DOWN which made it even seem more French than frites. You csn hear them in slide 2. No, you stand up, salopes!
The first photo is in Anthony’s dressing room, the last one is in my lobby.
Afterward we went to @caviarkaspia for jacket potatoes piled with caviar which seemed glamorous and trashy at the same time -one of my favorite combos.
I’d go on about how incredible the show was but it’s sold out so why bother?
It really was brilliant, though. I refuse to believe that director/choreographer @bobbijenesmith is a mere mortal.
