Not me crying already.
I realllllly didn’t want to do this post because I miss home way more than I thought I would and it’s been two days.
My Jaja (in Uganda your grandmother/grandmothers sisters/cousins) had a stroke last year and as all old people do, she started making expensive jokes so I decided I had to go back for my birthday this year. I’ve had a good year, I’m very much standing in answered prayer and God’s two hands cover me, but this trip fortified the direct line I have with Him because I felt how much people speak over me. I be knowing what to say, but I actually cannot put into words what is like to be barefoot on the ground where your ancestors mind you.
It’s a blessing to watch both my parents tender the resting places of their siblings, parents, their parents and their parents with so much pride, love, honour and respect. I loved on my cousins, nieces and nephews who I send to school, I was introduced on the acres and acres of land both my parents have bought and inherited that will nourish us for centuries to come, I slept in a home that my mum x stepdad worked relentlessly hard to buy just so my brother and I had some where to stay in the city while they finish their retirement home, I celebrated my actual birthday donating my birthday money to
@kuliracharity and had a dinner with my maternal side because their love isn’t a joke.
Anyways, it’s my Jesus year and God has shown me how I have been covered through love, endless petitions and selflessness of others so I’m really going to try and be the same for those who I love, especially my nieces, nephews and godchildren.
That was why I was in Uganda but separately but by no means a small feat or sidenote, it was Uganda’s 62nd year of Independence - #62since62🇺🇬. By sheer coincidence my huns
@priscillaanyabu_ was working with many other brilliant people including
@lucy_smize ,
@1_chris_ivan_1 , Hakka and the Ugandan government to spotlight Uganda as the greatest place on Earth - because it is. Shout out to you guys and everyone involved, you made my trip better than I could have imagined, your efforts were not in vain because I’m going back home every year!
Characters done! Bye x
