Holy shit it really is the day of my book’s birth! Pretty wild. Copies have been spotted at bookstores as of last week if you want to flick through one or have a smell, but you can order them online too—just don’t do it from Amaz0n!! or Dym0cks!! please.
I’ll be launching the book on 16 May 6.30PM @brunswickartistsbar with good pal & colleague @l___j___m___ , so come along if you’re keen on hearing more about the book, its politics and my process.
I’ll also be speaking on the radio @3rrrfm with @melissajfulton on her show Literati Glitterati 12PM AEST on 15 May, and then @rtrfm on 29 May @provolone_princess 10AM AEST/7AM AWST.
Appearing at the @wheelercentre ’s Next Big Thing reading series alongside @manishaanjali@roguedyke Jamil Badi & Ruby Todd! 27 May 6.30PM AEST.
There’s also a book tour in the works up and down the east coast in July (plus possibly WA too, but this is dependent on whether I get some funding I applied for)—more on that later!
OK I have exhausted my self-advertisement limit for now, hope to see you at something! I’m also open to reviews and interviews so feel free to drop me a DM if you’d like to do either or both!

Recently I was asked by @alyciabennettart to create an audio track and write a short text for @fineprintmagazine 's 37th issue SOUND, so I decided to lean into my love of noise music. It might be considered an exegesis for my solo project and overall attitude to living.
Read the rest of the text while perhaps listening to the track and then check out the issue, with other types of sounds and writing by Aly herself, @marcuswhaleinlandsea , @_purple_stars_expleting_ , Bridget Chappell, DJ Khole a.k.a. Curly and Amamanita Axaxaxanax Glass Seer 🎛️
/issues/37-sound or the usual spot LiB etc etc
This was commissioned months before I joined Overland in case anyone cries cronyism! Most importantly, bless legendary online editor Giovanni Tiso's cotton socks for being so patient with me 🫶🏼
New review-essay published now, on Ariel Bogle and Cam Wilson's Conspiracy Nation, amid thoughts on conspiracy phobia on the left and how conspiratorial thinking is a strategy not an error. Link in bio and all that tee hee
The latest issue of @debrismag is themed 'No!', tapping into the general sense of refusal that's in the air today. As the magazine's opening editorial explains: “It’s the time of no. No war, no genocide, no corporatism, no big business, no oligarchies, no neo-feudalism, no rapacious plunder of land, no capitulation, no phone, no imperialism, no capital, no future.”
In the new episode of the Stack podcast, Debris editors Cher Tan and Jon Tjhia, and founder Julia Flaster, explain how they started with the most negative word in the English language, and worked their way towards something more positive.
Would you believe it...... @infojewels and I are BACK (again) as editors of @debrismag . This time it is Issue 7: GET HELP, and we are seeking pitches and/or submissions once more.
Issue 7 will be the final instalment in our editorial trilogy, after Issue 3: THE URGE TO KNOW and Issue 6: NO! Take some time this holiday season to hunker down, scheme ideas, get some writing done. You may find it to be very satisfactory! Help us help you and all that jazz. We welcome submissions from emerging, established and unpublished writers—please feel free to DM me with any questions.
Some prompts above. Deadline for pitches is 9 Jan, with selected contributors notified by 15 Jan. See debrismag.com/submit for more details, or go to the link in my bio if you're too lazy to type out the URL.
