LIMBIC Is an original art produced by Muted Entity. Brewing Ritual meets Sound bath. A study in attentive perception: Rooted in meditative aromas and ambient textures of our brewing ceremony. We are a collective listening “irl“ experiences. We are grounding, resetting the nervous systems and sharing coffee. Thank you @versecafenyc for hosting our first pilot event. Looking forward to the next one 😅👀. Thank to @lichennyc for providing seating. Thank you Shun for hosting the second pilot event. I began composing this digital analog experience for almost 6 months. I‘m so happy to have amazing friends who support what we are doing.

I am honored to announce that Muted Entity has been named a recipient of the 2026 Community Leaders Grant by @citizenscommittee . Founded in 1975, Citizens NYC is a pioneer in micro-funding, supporting leaders who strive to make New York City neighborhoods more connected, resilient, and healthy. This $5,000 award will go toward the ongoing development of Limbic and Muted Entity operations. Limbic is an original art form developed at the intersection of coffee, sound, and community; with the goal to create art and give back to the community. We are grateful for the support and look forward to building this immersive experience for our city.

My latest artist spotlight takes a look into the practice of Joseph Oxley and his slow coffee bar concept, @muted.entity Joseph transforms a mundane ritual into a thoughtfully curated experience by bringing specialty pour-over coffee to unconventional spaces. His minimal setups crafted from concrete, steel, and glass act as silent anchors, encouraging stillness and genuine connection in an overstimulated world. It’s less about the beverage, and entirely about grounding guests in the present moment and the energies that coffee attracts.

Muted Entity is a slow coffee concept that see hospitality as a thoughtfully curated experience. Our focus is on providing an escape from today’s overstimulating digital experience. Inspired by the harmonious balance of stillness, human touch and creativity. I provided a personlized pour over coffee service intentionally designed to ground you in the moment. 

As a coffee profession I am sensitive to the quality of coffee and the environment I invite you to. At the intersection of ingredients, materials and movement a neuroaesthetics coffee experience is a dialogue of the energy our surroundings produce and each interactions we share. By definition neuroaesthetics is the study of how the brain responds to sensory experiences like art & design in our environments. Through this service approach I hope to celebrate simple moments exchanged through a love for coffee. Communicating silently through placement and textures; every step, from hand-grinding to the final pour, is meticulously measured to cultivate meditative observation. Carefully preparing each drink and selecting temporary space, I hope to deliver a unique experience that embodies the space and time that we share.
