And we are done! The Connections show garden representing @alzheimersresearchuk at the RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival is complete, judging was this morning and we find out tomorrow morning how we did 🤞 This garden was designed, constructed and mostly grown by me and couldn't have been created without the help and support of all my family (who put up with me and helped build on site) and friends, an army of knitters and help doing all the admin from Alzheimers Research UK. Thank you to everyone involved, I think the number of people involved in this in one way or another is about 350 - 400, most I will never meet or have the chance to say thank you but thank you! Topiary and trees kindly supplied by @topiaryandhedging Wool for the yarnbombinb kindly donated by @westyorkshirespinners Stone for the path from @cedstonegroup Stone trough from @original_stonetroughs Metal frame for the yarnbombing @monte_engineering Last minute help from the @rhshampton_showteam (thabk you) Emergency plant purchases from @kevockgarden Thank you to everyone! #gardendesign #landscapeinstitute #knackered #gardens #yarnbombing #knitting #crochet #giantscabious #topiary #ammi #dementiagarden

Can't quite believe it's been a year since we started building our Chelsea Show Garden. The whole journey spent planning, designing, talking about and finally building it was an amazing experience. I'm quite jealous of this year's designers starting but also quite happy to see from a distance. Very much looking forward to helping @melaniehickgardens bat conservation garden next week. If anyone finds my air BnB keys.....please bury them again. I quite like the idea they will be on the showground site forever. @project.giving.back @seawilding @plantbased_gardens #chelseaflowershow #seagrass #gardeninspiration #chelseaflowershow2025 #gardendesignerscotland

A technically demanding Linlithgow project delivered in collaboration with Ryan Musa Landscape Architecture, featuring Schellevis steps installed via spider crane and a fully integrated in-lite lighting scheme. At the heart of the scheme are sixteen carbon-coloured Schellevis steps, forming the defining feature of the landscape. Each unit, weighing 185kg, was carefully sourced directly from Holland and installed with precision using specialist lifting equipment. Beyond their scale and presence, these steps create a strong architectural spine through the garden, anchoring the design and elevating the overall finish. It was a privilege to bring this element to life as part of Ryan Musa Landscape Architecture’s vision. Beyond the striking stepped transition, the garden has been carefully composed using a restrained palette of high-quality materials to create a clean, contemporary finish. Large-format granite slabs define the main terrace areas, providing a robust and elegant surface that anchors the space visually against the surrounding stone walls. Water plays a key role within the design, with the installation of three Corten steel ponds positioned to guide the eye through the garden. A bespoke rill is to be introduced, connecting two of the ponds and adding both movement and sound to the space, further enhancing the overall atmosphere. The entire garden is underpinned by an integrated in-lite smart lighting system, allowing the space to be controlled directly from a mobile device. This not only highlights the key features and materials after dark but extends the usability of the garden into the evening. While the structure and hard landscaping are now in place, the scheme is still awaiting planting, which will ultimately soften the lines and bring the full vision of the garden to life. @schellevis_uk @inlite_global @landscapeplus_uk @adezz_gardenproducts @cedstonelandscape

Museum of Contemporary Art - MoCA Suzhou On the edge of the Jinji Lake the modern Chinese architecture alongside courtyards of traditional planting but with a very contemporary feel. The ripples curved glass with the stainless steel feel sympathetic and calm in an environment that just over the road is brash and loud with LED screens. The joy was to be able to walk around these building at night as well as by day, and although not open to the public during our visit, we could still walk around the buildings and courtyards. One courtyard was filled with water and water lilies just starting to sprout, whilst another was filled with bamboo. #suzhou #suzhoumuseumofcontemporaryart #architectureandnature #design @musalandscape

What an amazing time at the Suzhou Garden Gathering in China. @plantbased_gardens and myself were invited to deliver a talk, while concentrating on the @seawilding garden we also talked about community gardening and the importance of legacy and relocation of show gardens. Was fantastic to be on the same speaker list as @kategouldgardens @julietsargeant @ginggaanbai and many others. #suzhou #suzhougarden #gardendesignscotland #Chelseaflowershow #gardensforgoodcauses

Our most complex site yet in Linlithgow, delivered by Garradh Landscape & Design for landscape architect Ryan at Musa Landscape Architecture @musalandscape Installing the Schellevis steps, each weighing 185kg, was no small task with an access width of just 850mm to the back garden @schellevis_uk To get the job done safely and precisely, Garradh Landscape & Design brought in a compact spider crane with a stone magnet from JRF, allowing each step to be lifted carefully into place and the staircase to be built one piece at a time @jrf_crane_hire We are incredibly proud of the team for tackling such a challenging project with a real can-do attitude, constant problem-solving, and plenty of brainstorming to find the right solution. The photos speak for themselves. #Garradh #LandscapeConstruction #Schellevis #Linlithgow #TeamWork

A few sketches of a proposed garden in the woods near Edinburgh, currently under construction. Working with @oneill_trees_and_timber who made the trees safe, and resulted in a lot of branches to do something with we decided on defining paths and spaces within the woods by making dead hedges, creating habitat in the process 😁 🐝 🐸 🦎 #deadhedges #deadhedge #hedges #habitat #naturegarden

Capturing the spirit of the Scottish west coast | A seawilding garden 🦪🪸 Designed for the @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show by @musalandscape and inspired by the tidal landscape of Loch Craignish in Argyll, this garden was created for Seawilding – a community-led charity that focuses on reintroducing two keystone species (native oysters and seagrass) back into the sea loch. By using native plants found around Loch Craignish (or those that ought to be there), this garden became a land-based echo of the restoration work happening in the water. It featured locally quarried sandstone and a sculptural seagrass form by @artfe.sculpture , crafted from reclaimed steel pipes. Following Chelsea, the garden was relocated to Loch Craignish, where it will form part of a new community garden — a lasting reflection of the restoration work underway.
