So often, frozen pizza packaging is void of main-character energy and relies heavily on appetite appeal and cheese-pull photography. The category also will sometimes try to avoid overly stereotypical design cues that loudly shout “Italian food.”
When Massa’s frozen pizzas went from clear wrap with a label to a fully boxed package, that was part of the challenge for @murmurcreative .
The new design shift meets retailer expectations, but more importantly, it gives the brand a larger canvas to actually speak in its own voice.

Earlier this year, we jumped at the chance to work with the world’s best cheddar cheese. 🥇
After Tillamook’s award-winning Maker’s Reserve line of cheddars got a packaging overhaul, we worked with Tillamook to bring this new brand world to life.
Through photography, illustration, typography, and OOH displays rooted in luxury and coastal motifs, these premium cheeses are sure to make a splash. 🧀💙
Local businesses are the lifeblood of Portland, and we’re proud to be a creative partner of one of our absolute favorites: @portlandnursery . 🌱
We’ve been involved in refreshing many of their brand touch points, among them transforming the heart of their business, their nurseries, with new murals and signage. With pops of color, flora, and heartfelt messages, each nursery is now bursting with Portland Nursery’s true spirit.
None of the murals would have been possible without @hisrollinghighness , who painted day and night to bring our designs to life.
This is Portland talent and ingenuity at its finest, and we’re thankful to be a part of it! 🌹✨
Portland Design Month always has a special place in our hearts here at Murmur, but tonight proved this might’ve been the best one yet! Our studio was bursting at the seams with Portland’s creative community last night, and we all had such a blast that the party lasted almost an hour later than planned. We indulged in meats and cheeses, played bingo, and raffled off a basket of our favorite food & beverage clients’ products.
Thank you so much to everyone who made it out last night — it was so nice to see your lovely faces! Let’s keep this momentum going. We’ll see you at the upcoming Design Month events from @aigaportland ! 🫶
We turned office art into a team bonding exercise ✨
Our creative director, @dani_loureiro , designed this mural based on our Murmur values, mixed with bits of fun, weirdness, and fantasy. Local muralist @hisrollinghighness came to the studio and turned Dani’s design into a giant paint by numbers. Over a week in February, the Murmur team got their hands dirty, bonding over the fact that most of us weren’t as good of painters as we thought.
Come see the mural in person on Tuesday, October 14th, at our open house, and read more about the mural design and painting process in our blog (link in bio)! 🫶
Join us on Tuesday, October 14th, in our SE Division studio for an evening of design, celebration, and conversation as part of @pdxdesignmonth ! We'll be enjoying food and drinks from our packaging partnerships over the years and connecting with Portland’s creative community. RSVP for free at the link in our bio! We can't wait to see you there! ✨
New work for Westwood Farms 🍻
This logo exemplifies the growth, balance, and connection at the heart of this visionary hop farm. Inspired by the towering hop plants that reach up to 20 feet high and the summer moon that hangs above them, we were so thrilled to see how well the logo fits in on the farm at Westwood’s brand launch dinner last month.
We’re fortunate to call the Westwood Farms team our partners and friends! Keep a look out for their website, launching shortly. ✨
We’re big cheesin’ over here about the newest @tillamook merch collection we designed this year. Talk about a dream project! Across the collection, you’ll notice emphasis on the beauty of the cheese pull, the magic of the Tillamook Creamery, and a celebration of the cows that make it all happen. Thankful as always to our partners at Tillamook. 🧀❤️
You may need to apply some SPF before looking at these logos! 😎
EDP is a global leader in renewable energy and decarbonisation, building hydro, wind, and solar energy parks all over the world. Our partnership with them began back in 2019, and we've made over 30 logos for them over the years. Take a peek at some of our personal favorites!
Meet @_rallycrew_ ! RallyCrew is an online platform for whitewater paddlers of all abilities to connect and adventure together.
A big labor of love, we created this logo over two years ago and have watched as the team behind RallyCrew has worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life. We're so excited to watch this brand grow as we continue to support them across socials and apparel. And to the RallyCrew team, congratulations on your successful launch. 🥳✨
Our newest rebranding project is officially out in the world! We're thrilled to have collaborated with Red River Commodities team on their chicken treat brand, Pecking Order. 🐔💛
If you're at @superzooshow this week, come check out the giant chickens at the Pecking Order booth and their New Product display. If you're having FOMO, hopefully these pictures help you bask in the giant chicken glory. ✨
You can also learn more about the brand on their new website, getpeckingorder.com! See ya there.
At Murmur, we use archetypes as a foundational piece of our brand strategy services. These are research-based practices that help brands leverage archetypal or recurring characters that show up in stories across cultures and generations like the hero, the caregiver, and the rebel.
Because we use archetypes so often, when we redid our website this year, we paired each of our team members with an archetype-inspired character that matched their personality. Learn more about how our strategists use and combine archetypes for our clients in this month’s blog post. Link in bio!! ✨🔮 ⚙️
