We just learned that LIFE AFTER has been nominated for FOUR News & Documentary Emmys! We’re so proud of our whole team, especially director @reidjdavenport and editor @donjbernier whose vision and skill these nominations honor in particular. Thank you to the collaborators, funders, movement partners, and participants who helped us bring this film to fruition, and the audiences who have told us this film changed their minds, fueled them to fight harder, or made them feel less alone.
Big news from Multitude Films 🌟 Founder and President Jess Devaney will be transitioning out of their role as President in June 2026, and Co-Founder Anya Rous will step into the role. Our incredible leadership team will also be taking on expanded roles - stay tuned for more soon!
"I am deeply confident in Multitude’s future and in what we will continue to build together — for our collaborators, for the communities we serve, and for the stories still to be told." - @jessicadevaney
What a night! 🥂✨ Thank you so much to @fordfoundation for hosting a beautiful screening and reception for @lifeafterfilm and to @rebecca_a_cokley and Van Newkirk II for joining @reidjdavenport for a riveting and insightful conversation. We could not imagine a better way to wrap our 16-month distribution and impact campaign for this powerful film.
💬 "The stories we often see are not our (italicize) stories -- they're stories that are crafted by non-disabled people," said Rebecca Cokley, Program Officer for U.S. Disability Rights at the Ford Foundation, "That was one of the things I really loved about [LIFE AFTER]…it’s an unapologetically disabled story, and it was told through our perspective.”
We're honored by the way audiences continue to respond to LIFE AFTER and by everyone who came out to celebrate this huge moment. If you were not able to catch any screenings in the last year, LIFE AFTER is now available to rent! See the link in our bio, along with the link to our recent distribution case study "Producer-led Distribution in a Collapsing Market" written by the film's producer, @colleencassing .

New Case Study from Distribution Advocates 📕✨ LIFE AFTER: Producer-led Distribution in a Collapsing Market. Read now at the link in our bio!
From retaining key rights, to centering accessibility, to experimenting with direct distribution, we share stories from @lifeafter.film ’s 16-month distribution campaign, including transparent data and learnings to help all film teams adapt and apply new methodologies for their own work.
Written by @colleencassing on behalf of the film team, this case study was made possible by a grant from Distribution Advocates’ Film-ADE Fund to collapse traditional release windows into a custom distribution strategy centering accessibility and impact.
Imagine if each film released created a few small but meaningful changes in how films are distributed and exhibited. In the aggregate we just might establish new standards and break open paths for others (or your own next film). Read this new Distribution Advocates post about @lifeafter.film@multitudefilms written by @colleencassing for a fascinating deep dive.
