We’re excited to announce that MU – MUDEC United will take part in Mag to Mag (@mag__to__mag ), the independent magazines festival organised by Frab’s (@frabs_magazines ), happening on 13-14 September 2025 at BASE Milano (@base_milano ). Join us on Sunday, 14 September at 4.00 PM for a special talk, where two editorial worlds meet and transform each other: on one side, a museum that chooses the language and format of a magazine; on the other, an iconic magazine like FMR, opening up to digital while preserving its unique visual and sensory identity. With Edoardo Pepino (@edoardo.pepino , Director of @labirintodellamasone and custodian of @francomariariccieditore ’s legacy), Carlo Antonelli (@antonelligram , Editorial Director of @mudec_united ), and Valerio Tamagnini (@valeriotamagnini , Founder of @studioblanco.it ). “I didn’t see a difference between a poem, a sculpture, a film, or a dance. A gesture has for me the same weight as a drawing: draw, erase, draw, erase—memory erased.” Joan Jonas (@broadcove ) from “In the Shadow of a Shadow”. “I was recently in Australia and discovered that, in the southern hemisphere, most plants are evergreen—an adaptation that helps them withstand extreme temperatures. But what struck me most was that natural life there comes alive at night—the opposite of what we’re used to here.” Excerpt from “Blooming in the Dark” by Antonio Perazzi (@antonio.perazzi ) Photograph by Aitziber Ruiz de Eguino, Ed Stone, Bibi Pace, Sina Bahar, Miom_0326, Annie Spratt, reonokiy, Shiva, Dong Cheng. “This story has a happy ending, but the beginning is dramatic. Our thoughts go to the thousands of men—the faceless, nameless slaves and prisoners of Rome—bent under the weight of labor and the burdens extracted from the depths of the Empire’s provinces. Thanks to them, we can trace the long journey of an ancient cargo of lead, mined from Iberian rock, lost to a shipwreck and the sea floor, and centuries later transported to the heart of the Gran Sasso and the laboratories of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN).” Excerpt from “Piombo” by Tiziana Cipelletti (@storyville.it ) “Piombo”, directed by Tiziana Cipelletti, 2021. “From 1991 to 2014, COLORS (@colorsmagazine ) cultivated an international network of contributors who captured the beauty, strangeness, and often shocking realities of life across the globe. It challenged elite perceptions, critiqued the darker sides of progress, and questioned the inevitability of globalization. Each page presented powerful visuals, quotes, and ideas that surprised, enlightened, and sometimes shocked readers while expanding their understanding of the world.” Excerpt from “The Heritage of Fabrica (@fabricaresearchcentre ) and COLORS” by Carlos Casas (@carlosmcasas ) COLORS N. 11 – Travel special, June – August 1995.
