🇭🇹🏴🚩 @marleinebastien 💥 I was honored to host our Haitian Heritage Month Art Exhibit Unveiling Celebration, “The Haitian Story: A Legacy of Courage, A Future of Possibilities,” as we officially kicked off a month dedicated to celebrating the strength, brilliance, and beauty of Haitian culture.
The stunning artwork now on display in the Stephen P. Clark Center Lobby will inspire and speak to visitors throughout the month, and I’m deeply grateful to the talented artists who helped bring our stories to life through their creativity and vision.
A special thank you to singer Portia, dancer Sherika, and poet Mecca Marcelien, whose powerful performances moved the room and reminded us of the depth, resilience, and richness of Haitian history and culture. Thank you to DJ Max for setting the tone with his beats. I’m grateful to Dr. Shirley Plantin for acting as the emcee and @muce305 for organizing a unique experience for all to enjoy. Thank you to @mayordlc for joining us for the celebration.
Our story is one of courage, creativity, resilience, and endless possibility — and this month, we celebrate every part of it!

What a beautiful way to kick off the NEW YEAR! 💛
This past Saturday, we came together with the City of North Lauderdale to support our students and families with a Back-to-School Drive, and the love was REAL.
A huge thank you to Mayor Samson Borgelin @mayorsamsonborgelin , the Vice Mayor, City Commissioners, & Barberside FC, for their leadership and partnership 🙌🏽
Special thanks to the North Lauderdale Police, Fire, and Parks & Recreation Departments, for their support, presence, and dedication to keeping our community safe and engaged.
This is what it looks like when leadership, culture, and community come together for our youth 💪🏽✨
Thank you to every family who made this day a success—we couldn’t have done it without you.

New Birdy City is not a real city, it’s a product of pure imagination/
But take a good look around, it might not all be fiction.
