A big thank you to @lemonhouse_inc for delivery of this stunning new album from @tomonakayama + some tasty extras from @mai_mishio & @oonoyuuki . Tomo’s album ‘Ocean’ already a firm favourite in 2025! A stunning set of songs that talk of loss, nature, the fragility of life and so much more. It’s absolutely wonderful! Check out Tomo’s music if you can - find him on bandcamp and streaming services. Played on MTR regularly! Tomo recently found supporting @ronsexsmithmusic . Thank you Tomo & Lemon House. Super happy :)))
I didn’t read any reviews or see any of the promotion. Very unlike the Dylan biopic. This a film primarily about depression, and an unswerving belief in songs to cut through the bull! 🐂. Not for everyone… but if you have an interest in Bruce… I think you’ll find much to enjoy/think about #delivermefromnowhere #brucespringsteen #nebraska #film #tivolicinemacheltenham
Thank you @jenniewarriorprincess for the message. Great to know you’ve been enjoying @felicebrothers this time round! Gotta love a train reference too 🚂! :) #trains #music #radio #internetradio #singersongwriters #musicfan
🎶 Track of the Week on MTR – Just After 1PM Daily! 🎶
Powerhouse vocals and soulful storytelling take center stage with our new Track of the Week: "Neon Cowgirl" by Tami Neilson featuring Neil Finn .
This shimmering, cinematic anthem blends vintage Western glamour with bold, modern production — a true showcase of Neilson’s vocal firepower and Finn’s signature melodic finesse. The album itself ''Neon Cowgirl' has a Roy Orbison feel in terms of the songwriting! Magic from Tami!
A great track with heart, grit, and star-power to spare.
Tune in daily just after 1PM on MTR to hear "Neon Cowgirl" light up the airwaves!
Hi, it’s Alex. It's been a long time broadcasting any kind of program since becoming ill late 2023, but lately, I’ve been deep in the world of @davidgray — crafting a one-hour documentary-style special on the singer-songwriter 🙂
David recently headlined the Cheltenham International Jazz Festival @cheltfestivals - right here in Gloucestershire, and we've got something truly special for you.
Alongside a rare short interview from the 'White Ladder' era, my good friend @johnholdham sat down with David in Cheltenham just a few weeks ago — and the conversation is a great listen!
Expect stunning music, candid moments, and the unmistakable magic of David Gray.
It’s all happening on 'Mystery Train Radio', Saturday the 21st of June, from 8PM (UK) - Repeated Sunday 22nd of June at 10PM (UK). Tune in. Let it pull you in 🙂 #davidgray
Track of the Week on MTR – Just After 1PM (UK) Daily! 🎶
We're putting the spotlight on the brilliant Ron Sexsmith with our Track of the Week, featuring "Don't Lose Sight"—a heartfelt song from his upcoming album 'Hangover Terrace'. Tune in every day this week just after 1PM to hear it on MTR!
Curious about Ron?
Ron Sexsmith is one of Canada’s most respected singer-songwriters, with an impressive 17 studio albums under his belt. Over the years, he's collaborated with musical legends including Daniel Lanois, Mitchell Froom, Ane Brun, Tchad Blake, and Bob Rock. His songwriting has been featured on albums by Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, k.d. lang, Emmylou Harris, and Feist.
Hangover Terrace, his latest album, drops August 29th on all major streaming platforms. It will also be available in a limited-edition turquoise vinyl and limited-edition CD format.
The album was recorded at Eastcote Studios in London with producer Martin Terefe, during Ron’s extended UK stay following his Sexsmith At Sixty tour last November.
Reflecting on Hangover Terrace, Ron shares:
“This record feels more wounded to me than my previous albums. The world has felt a bit off since the pandemic, and nerves seem more exposed. I had a few falling outs with friends, so there’s a lot of self-reflection and a search for true friendship. It also explores themes of time passing and appreciating what we hold dear.”
To celebrate the album’s announcement, Ron performed an exclusive, intimate show at The Water Rats in London on June 4th, which quickly became one of the most talked-about events of the week.
