I’ve opened a few spots in July for consultations. If you’re artist wanting to start a project, bounce some strategy ideas around or chat about how to keep the creative fires alight against the relentless tsunami of music industry bullshit, drop by. I’d love to work with you. Xo

London turned out today in red, responding to a snap call to action from @palestinesolidarityuk to demand an immediate arms embargo and sanctions for Israel. Extra powerful against the background of the British parliament. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

The Second High, my seventh record, is out today. Happy born day, little one. I’m happy that these songs will find some new ears in which to build their nests and that the process is now, on my end, complete. Fly little songs 🦅. My massive thanks to @benigiles who produced, engineered, mixed and provided bass and BVs to the record. It was such a pleasure working with a fellow sentimental cynic from whom I learned so much about so much. And to @larterjames for playing drums and percussion like a true legend. Such feelz, such grooves. Love also to @mrthis for the cover art and @sebi.white for the design. And to the legends at @remotecontrolrecords | @dotdashrecordings for being a home for The Second High and such a vital part of the Australian musical ecosystem. There are many more people to thanks which I’ll do over the next while. There’s no outcome no and no ‘point’ to any of it except to have made something that wasn’t there before. And to say that I hope that this record connects in some way and provides some sense of feeling understood. We all have so much to learn from each other. While the lessons of the past couple of years in my career have been hard won, I’ll know that I’ve always trodden my own path. And I thank god, daily, for art. Thank you for your support. I’m truly truly grateful. XO Stringzy

A guitar version of On The Level filmed in Basingstoke, UK, during the making of The Second High in 2023. Written about my disdain for people who are disingenuous/full of shit 🫶🏼. Around the edges in the dark I can see you’re now watching me But out here on the margins are horizons that stretch beyond where your eyes can see Filmed by Adam Pegg (TRATAKA Video).

A lot of fun hangs over the weekend and a particularly cathartic one for me yesterday at Port Fairy 2026. Thank you so much to my band who make performing such a joy these days. Xox

Hello. I just finished reading the most beautiful novel. The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff. I can’t stop thinking about it. As you can see.

It was a privilege and the best musical education on earth to perform with the Oils for the Makarrata and Resist tours with my dear mate @leahflanaganmusic . I stood next to Rob every night feeling the intensity and power of his energy flying off him as he drove his once-in-a-lifetime band forward. I’ve never experienced anything like the Oils’ synergy and never will again. And as a songwriter Rob was an idol - no-one else has captured and told the Australian colonial story as well, as thoughtfully and as truthfully as him with such chest-ripping musicality. His wicked sense of humour and indefatigable curiosity about other people made me, and so many other Australian musicians, feel listened to and respected and made him the fearless activist that he was. What an incredible, deeply kind, intelligent and emotionally dexterous person. My love goes to his Oils and his beautiful family, to whom he was so utterly devoted. It won’t be the same without you, Uncle Rob. X
