4 weeks with Poppi Scarlett. Born 9/15/2025 @3 :43 PM, 4 pounds 11 ounces. It feels surreal to post this, what a year it has been. From finding out I was pregnant the week my father passed, after a long journey to get here (that story could be a book for another time), it’s been a whirlwind. We called my father, “Poppy Scott” so having our little Poppi Scarlett around feels like a piece of him is still here. I’m not much of a spiritual person, but there is no way it was a coincidence that Poppi showed up the same week my dad left this earth. “Tiny but mighty” the dr said. This little lady came 3 weeks early and growth restricted, but miracle of miracles ended up being exactly enough grams for us to take her home with us. Induction, Unplanned C Section, Mastitis, C Section Infection Scars, but we made it. I know many people didn’t even know I was pregnant, I’d been scarred in this area too many times to feel comfortable posting. If I’m being honest, even posting this now feels scary.
