Indy Pass had the pleasure of hosting hundreds of friends, partners, and ski industry leaders from 50+ independently-run resorts around the world at the 2nd Annual “Conference of Indypendents.” Today’s ski industry is changing faster each day than perhaps ever before. This event aims to create space for the world’s independent ski operators to come together, share ideas, and tackle the most pressing opportunities across technology, marketing, operations, insurance, and beyond. At the core of it all is a shared mission. Preserving the uniquely welcoming and affordable ski experience these resorts provide. We’re also honored to host this now annual gathering at our new headquarters in New Hampshire at @blackmtnnh . Events such as this are in direct alignment with our resort, which serves as both a historic ski area and an innovation hub for independent ski areas everywhere. Thank you to all of our amazing partners and attendees for making this our best conference yet. These are the people on the front lines keeping skiing and its soul independent.

A small ski area in western Maine has quietly built one of the most respected downhill bike parks in the Northeast — and they did it entirely in-house. No Gravity Logic. No grant funding. Just eight years of their own crew building 8.5 miles of trail across some seriously difficult terrain. We talked to Mt. Abram's lead trail builder, Max Southam, and marketing director, Allie Masten, about how they pulled it off, what opened in 2025, and what's coming for the 2026 season.
