Members of Ms Beta Phi Delta Theta had the opportunity to take part in the Bedz 4 Kidz service event hosted by Dream Center Golden Triangle, alongside First United Methodist Church in Columbus, MS. Being able to come together to build beds for children in need is what service and brotherhood are all about.

We want to take a moment to highlight one of our alumni Matthew Ramsey Φ22. He was our first ever vice president and α pitcher on the MSU baseball team. Ramsey serves as the mission manager for Artemis II that launched today April, 1st 2026 where he is responsible for helping define the mission’s requirements and priorities while ensuring that all systems are ready for flight. He oversees the daily preparations leading up to launch, coordinating across teams to confirm that the Space Launch System rocket, Orion spacecraft, and mission operations are fully prepared. He also addresses any issues that arise before launch and plays a leadership role in decision-making as part of the Mission Management Team. Ramsey exemplifies what a true Phi aspires to be. https://www.nasa.gov/image-article/artemis-ii-mission-manager-matthew-ramsey/

PHI-ATHLON🏃 The MS Beta chapter announces our philanthropy event Phi-Athlon on April 17th. This fundraiser supports the mission of the Live Like Lou Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing research, improving care, and ultimately finding a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). ALS is a progressive disease that affects nerve cells in the spine and brain and takes away a persons ability to walk, talk and eventually breathe. As of right now there is no cure which makes it even more important to help research and support finding a cure. We will be fundraising from now until the day of Phi-Athlon. To buy a ticket our Venmo is PhiDeltMsBeta and the link to the crowdchange https://livelikelou.crowdchange.co/58447 All proceeds benefit the @livelikelou4 foundation. Show up, Show out, and Fight ALS! We are excited to see you there April 17th at the Carl Maddox Track!

We want to take a moment to highlight our community impact that we have participated this week. On Monday we had the great opportunity to serve a family affected by ALS. ALS is neuromuscular degenerative disease that is researched by our philanthropy, the LiveLikeLou foundation. Yesterday our members, in conjunction with @tdd_ques volunteered at Montgomery Gardens Assisted Living home. We had a great time helping out at these events and are looking forward to more community service events in the future.

Meet Sam Wiseman, our brother of the month he is a junior majoring in business marketing and management from Tupelo, Mississippi. Sam is our newly elected community service chairman and has already started helping out Habitat for Humanity and other community service projects. When asked about the his favorite part of being a member of Phi Delta Theta, Sam said, “it’s the brotherhood.” He also shared that there’s just something special about being around a group of guys who have your back and push you to be better every day. Sam also mentioned how much it means to serve the community together, especially working with those who need to be served locally. Proud Φ» We at the Mississippi Beta Chapter are glad to call Sam our brother.
