Four years ago, I came to Mississippi State University with a dream that felt bigger than me: becoming a doctor. What I did not realize was how much the Biochemistry Pre-Medicine journey would test me. Long nights, sacrifices, self doubt, failures, and moments where the odds felt stacked against me as a Black man in STEM. But through faith, resilience, discipline, and God’s grace, I kept pushing forward.
Now, I graduate Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Pre-Medicine). This accomplishment represents more than grades or titles. It represents perseverance, sacrifice, prayers, and the belief that even when the odds seem small, purpose is always greater than fear.
During my time here, I was blessed to grow through leadership, research, mentorship, and brotherhood. Serving as Basileus of the Theta Delta Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. helped shape me into the man I am today and taught me the true meaning of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.
Mississippi State gave me more than a degree. It gave me memories, lifelong friendships, mentors, and a home I will never forget. To every student chasing a dream that feels impossible, especially those who look like me, keep going. You belong in every room God places you in.
Next stop: Medical School. 💜🩺
