🍰CAKEAPALOOZA 2025 🍰 Vancouver Vanilla Rose Cake 🎂 Berry Compote and Vanilla Pastry Cream Filling 🫐 Hibiscus Rose Brown Butter Coconut Cream Frosting 🌺🌹 Vancouver Vanilla Cake 🎂 Mango Butter and Vanilla Pastry Cream Filling 🥭 Guava Brown Butter Coconut Cream Frosting 🥥 NAME A BETTER DUO, I’LL WAIT ⏰ I had *so* much fun yesterday making and assembling these cakes! Everything is made from scratch… exceeeeeept the Mango Butter which I brought back from Maui this summer. I remembered tricks and tips learned from various workshops I’ve attended with and @pelahkitchen and the cake recipe is from @birdhousebakeshop and @allegradagostini workshop in Vancouver last summer 😉 And thanks to Liz and Allegra for putting me on to @flourist as it’s the only flour I use now — the absolute best! Oh and Rose Sugar from @kalustyans really brings the rose flavor home AND it’s why the cake is slightly darker. I have been on the serious G-O all summer from traveling to picking up new work to social events and helping friends and family… I haven’t had much “me” time and baking these cakes brought me joy & solace, truly allowing me to pour back into ME. 🥹❣️ I’m bringing some slices to @keyonharrold show tonight at the @bluenotenyc so get a ticket and slide thru. Ima tryn make another cake this week though to use up the remaining frosting and pastry cream so might have slices next weekend too 👀 #MadeByMariniPie

Attractive ✨ Durable ✨ Authentic. Three words I would definitely use to describe my dad. I felt compelled to pull off the road on Wednesday, somewhere in southern Utah and take some pics of this Galion blade tractor… my dad always had @caterpillarinc tractors… but the blade was his main tractor. I recently found some Polaroids of my parents with the first @caterpillarinc blade my dad bought. I haven’t taken a pic with a blade in a long while so it felt special to be able to do that on my dad’s birthday week. I took a lap around the tractor and took some pics and came to the other side and found this Harristone box. I don’t take this to be a coincidence but rather a message that my dad is always close to me, no matter how far he (and my mom) sometimes feel. So today, on his 76th birthday I’m sharing this moment. I swear the desert is growing on me and I felt the magic of that land while there this week. I love you always, Dad! “Huggie” as he says 💜🚜

Timing is Errythang! Headed to EWR, by way of NJT via Penn Station. Called Uber, left home, picked up my cat sitter and then dropped her off and continued on my way to Penn Station. Normally I take the A but today had to give her my keys. At some point I realize we are taking 57th to 7th to Penn. I happen to be sitting on the left side of the car… roll my window down and there’s the poster of @keyonharrold outside of @carnegiehall . Looking forward to Saturday, omw to LA first! 🤪
