RIP ESON
I’ve known Eric since our elementary school days at Biscayne Gardens Elementary. We weren’t good friends outside of school, he lived on the east side of 95, and I grew up on the west side of 95. Two totally different friend groups. I moved out of North Miami to Pines in 7th grade. Years later we reconnected in the Advocate Program. Some of y’all will know what I’m talking about.
I was in the program for my first graffiti arrest in ‘98. You had to speak to a group of people about how you got arrested and what you plan to do to not let that happen again.
He heard me tell my story of getting popped for tagging on 95 and we started talking and quickly figured out that we knew each other.
We both for some reason were on the same path, just getting into graffiti and really looking up to Crome and the MSG guys. And had a real appetite for highway spots.
We both found our way into MSG completely independently around the same time. We are in the same generational class of the crew. After Beno passed in ‘97, the guys that joined in 98 & 99.
We both repped MSG as hard as we could. My favorite spot we painted was the old Crome & Hest church roof top, a big ugly MSG. Hurricane Wilma came and ripped the roof off and left the bottom portion of the MSG until it got torn down.
I always felt a connection to Eson. He waved the MSG flag and carried our crew when we were at our lowest. Eson & Heat carried the crew the during our weakest point in crew history.
To everyone seeing this post, if you didn’t know him, just know he was a ruthless illegal highway graffiti bomber for the MSG Crew.
I chopped up the old VICE episode featuring Eson. This is how he wanted to be remembered.
Rest in peace old friend. 💔

Today we mourn the loss of our brother ESON, a true king of the highways, but also a friend and a father. We will forever keep his name alive. Paint the heavens man, see you when we get there…

Crook & Crome on Channel 6 back in ‘99
Epic footage from the Kemo archives
If you watch closely you can see the detective holding the tape he used to hang the MSG banner off the side of the apartment.
The same banner the news said we had hanging off the apartment and that was how the police caught Crook & Crome.
Some classic spots including the infamous MSG wall across from Joe Robbie in Carol City, and a reporter doing a live spot in front of the Freedom Tower back when it was abandoned in 1999.
Enjoy.

Our guy Arive back in December of 2020 being interviewed for True Future by @joemullings Shout out to @phreezerfresh for sharing.
Dope to see footage of the homies rocking the Underwater Wall in Wynwood.
Strange times during the fall out of Covid but made for one of the most epic walls in crew history.
Here is the link of the full episode. Features a few more of the homies @alankets@miroizm@fhausammann@glaysonleroy@maxart_miami@msgcrew

Our brother Max’s final piece (UBET), painted just a couple weeks ago amongst many friends. At a loss for words today, as we mourn a Miami legend’s passing. If you knew him (or the incredible folklore that surrounded him) then you understand completely how devastating this is. He was a giant amongst men, a king amongst kings. But he was also a generous teacher, and an eternal student of his many crafts. We’ll miss him beyond what words can be expressed here. See you in the next dimension big bro…
