“In one family alone, there was a toddler with facial lacerations, his four-year-old sister with compound skull fractures, limb fractures and bruising on her lungs. Their father had varying injuries and their mother was also trapped under the rubble of their home.” Dr. Thienminh Dinh, emergency physician.
Israeli airstrikes continue in southern #Lebanon despite the #ceasefire. Medical teams are working around the clock to treat people injured in the attacks.
Doctors Without Borders was forced to permanently close Lankien hospital in #SouthSudan after a bomb was dropped from a plane into the hospital compound on Feb. 3. The facility was then further damaged by looting and vandalism. This is the fourth facility in the country to be destroyed since 2025.
For 31 years, the hospital provided healthcare to around 250,000 people. Today, communities in Lankien are left without access to medical services.
Watch Yashovardhan, MSF Country Director, share the impacts of its closure:
#Canada’s Prime Minister @markjcarney just spoke about the worsening humanitarian crisis in #gaza and ongoing settler violence in the #WestBank.
At @msfcanada , our medical teams are witnessing the consequences every day.
In #Gaza, hospitals are overwhelmed and essential supplies are running dangerously low. Patients are being treated amid displacement, insecurity, and relentless pressure on the health system.
In the West Bank, movement restrictions and settler violence are making it harder for people to access urgent medical care.
These are the realities our teams are documenting and responding to every day.
Read direct testimonies from Gaza and the West Bank: www.doctorswithoutborders.ca.
#Gaza: Between late 2024 and early 2026, our teams recorded higher rates of premature births and infant mortality among babies born to mothers affected by malnutrition during pregnancy.
We saw increased miscarriages, and a sharp rise in treatment defaulting among malnourished children.
Urgent access to aid is essential to restore respectable levels of health, nutrition and dignity.
