Solé •
I’ve been doing a lot of talk when it comes to rappers, especially the female rappers, and all the flowers and love i’ve given to the ladies would be incomplete without the mention of my girl
@mrssole !
Solé literally entered the industry on fire with her feature on JT Money’s Who Dat, followed by the infectious 4,5,6 and the Ginuwine/Jason Weaver (depending on the version) featured hit It Wasn’t Me.
Her Skin Deep album was a reference to what things were beyond what you may have saw on the surface, beyond the glam, the fame and the superstar life, Y’all have heard the quote “Beauty Is Only Skin Deep” many times in your life, and that’s what Solé was portraying then as well as now, although she’d eventually become disillusioned with where Rap and Music as a whole was at that time, she left one of the most lasting impressions ever, because for over 20 years, to only have ONE album and be held in such high regard says a LOT.
Throughout her career, she worked with the likes of Tamar Braxton, Ginuwine, The Isley Brothers, Tyrese and Big Gipp of Goodie Mob just to name a few, but her legacy ran deep, at one point she even had Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston onstage screaming and chanting her song, it don’t get no realer than THAT.
I always hope
@mrssole knows how much I love her, as a fellow Cancer myself, I got major love for all my Cancers, but between the way she carries her self, then and now, the spirituality, the Goddess energy she possesses, the talent, It’s no way I couldn’t love this lady.
I still wish her Fly Away album would appear on streaming services or something for me to hear it in its entirety, I hate that it was never released to us, but because of Sole’s spiritual awakening i’ve always understood it, maybe one day we’ll get some tracks besides “Never Had” which was a BIG bop!
