Grateful to make it to another decade! I still feel like my 21 year old self (with much better decision making skills ha) but entering my 30s also feels like a ✨fresh start✨.
Some memorable things from my 20s that I’ll tell my kids about one day bc I can’t help but reminisce👇
🎓 I graduated from a 4 year University! Did a winter semester in Europe! Had maybe a little too much fun at times but it led me to meeting your dad! At the time, leaving high school and going to college seemed liked a normal thing to do but it was kinda a big deal? I did a lot of partying (😅) but also a lot of growing up there.
🏙️ Coming from a small beach down it was also a pretty big deal to move to a big city like NYC! Out of school I briefly moved to Philadelphia & then was off to Manhattan & later Queens. That lifestyle feels so far behind me now but at the time I made the absolute most of it. Red carpet events, premieres, Fashion Weeks, dinners, subway rides, making friends, weird street interactions, doing unique activities… the world was at my fingertips. Getting to be neighbors with my best friend of 10 over years?! I mean?!? It was like a sitcom at times.
✈️ I WENT PLACES! Often. Whenever I could. With whatever money I had. Internationally, domestically- I prioritized travel in my 20s. 14 counties across 3 continents, some visited several times, each under different circumstances & with different budgets. From hostel hopping down the Costa Rican Pacific coast to Fashion Week in Paris to being flown out to Bali for work to loopholing my way into Cuba- every trip left its mark on me.
🏠 I purchased my first home at 24. After COVID I was thirsty for personal space & a new identity. The amount of effort put into fixing up that one of a kind property taught me so much about real estate, different trades, finances, basic life skills needed for property management and that life in the North Country is not for the weak.
💍 I got married & started our family. 3 rescue dogs & one special little girl later life feels peaceful now. I’m at ease being back in my hometown & embracing motherhood. Being your mom will always be my favorite.
