I always have a great time filming for @visitrehoboth ! We wanted to showcase all of the events and activities that are happening in and around Delaware’s beach towns! There are tons of local small businesses where you can shop for your loved ones! You can try new foods and winter menu items from amazing restaurants! You can check out all of the lights and decorations around the towns! There are lots of parades and plenty of beautiful landscapes to explore as well! Y’all... Deep Sea fishing is no joke! 85 miles off the coast 🤙🏽 Big Water, Big Waves, Big Boats, Big Fish, Big Risk.. the list goes on. The @del_made crew and I left on @billslayersportfishing out of the Indian river inlet at 4am. It took a few hours riding out into the darkness of the ocean before we were at the fishing spot. We trolled top water for #Tuna and other huge fish before switching up our strategy and dropping 350feet for #tilefish! I can’t fully describe the feeling of this trip.. but I can quickly mention a few things that crossed my mind. Technically is absolutely amazing.. how did people do this without what we have today?! The undisciplined ocean has a mind of its own and can swallow you in seconds. I have a good sense of direction, but when I couldn’t see land in ANY direction (and thought about what direction I would start swimming in if we flipped) I only had the shifting sun to help me calculate. I thought about how past travelers didn’t have phones to tell their loved ones where they were or if they were successful. The water was surprisingly clear and blue (nothing like the coast we left from). The blind trust in the maintenance, the health of the boat, and skill of the captain and crew really sets in once you feel the boat lean on massive waves. Those guys were soldiers.. trained experts at maneuvering, working with, and battling the ocean. Dolphins are way more spunky far out! THE. OCEAN. IS. NO. JOKE. It is definitely a life experience I’m glad I had! It was fun, scary, rewarding, humbling, painful, joyful, mentally challenging and I wouldn’t change a thing.
