@mrmcdowell was hit by a car that was going roughly 50mph on Tuesday while standing on a sidewalk in LA. He’s expected to make a full recovery (THANK THE UNIVERSE) but it’s going to be a long road. The list of injuries is extensive, surgery will be required on his ACL, and we won’t be able to go home to SF for quite some time (stairs!)
We’ve had so many amazing friends reach out to help, and some set up a go fund me to raise funds to assist with our out of pocket expenses that can’t be recovered (like hotel stays), rent, and other bills since it’s looking like Scott may not be able to work for many months. I first saw the Chasing the Moon videos when several bands I had interacted with were showcased on this series from 2009-2011. It’s very intimate high quality videos that cover the many sub genres during the recession era artist thriving in San Francisco. Re-discovering it in 2024 put me in contact with @mrmcdowell for an interview looking back.

I’m so heartbroken reading the news about Rob. I regret not making it to more of his gigs while there was still time, I guess I took it for granted that the bay was blessed with his talent for so long.
