The 1st time I worked with Parkwood was for The Roseland Concert in NYC. I remember my Mom and how she lit up. I had lived in NY 1 year. The last project I got to share with my mom was the concert at the Revel. She became an angel 3 months later. Fast forward 15yrs later @tytryone called asking me to assist him with The Met Ball days b4 mother's day. My love of the craft always keeps me in rooms beyond my wildest dreams. Olivier watching you and your teams process was amazing. @ongellfereria I adore you babys first met. My mothers prayers still cover me like a gently knit blanket. No matter how high you soar "Big Big World But You Got It Baby... Find Your Way Back!" Thank you team for another beautiful memory.

Day 2
On the first day of Black History Month we got to witness joy! Durand Bernarr walked into the 68th annual Grammy awards a talented burst of light, authenticity proud and GAY! He left a Grammy winning artist. Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio his parents were present as he received musics highest honor for his offering "Bloom" now Best Progressive R&B Album. Bernarr did NOT shy away from his rooted magic we've all come to love. Witnessing this only made me think of how many other amazing artist could have felt such joy at 37 years old on musics biggest stage. Suppression was their story, most finding the strength to live aloud well into adulthood. Someone reading this right now needed to hear Durand say "Butchqueen" on that stage to balance the all to familiar use as a slur adapted by St8 identifying homos within our own orbit. This visibility will always be at the forefront of history. BLACK, GAY, & PROUD! Durand you stand in the company of so many artist who echo your words to the millions. Even those who still refuse to see us. Inside the house and OUT! Congratulations you are BLACK HISTORY!

Rich History Month
Day 1
For the last few years I have looked forward to February 1st. I wanted to change the narrative surrounding my culture for the short 28 days were acknowledged. Intentionally woven into the fabric of this country we always were given its bare minimum. This year it feels irresponsible to try and change the narrative yet more important to be aware more than ever. The United States Is Under Attack. Everything our grandparents, ancestors and believers fought for is being wiped away before our eyes. The core has been breached, or has it been. What we very well are seeing is America in its absolute design. The very truth that the colonizers intended to manifest. Whatever the reality we are here NOW. We must see things for their existence. Rich History Month starts today.
