Here is a friendly reminder there is still time to submit to the instant film exhibition open call, “When the Moment Presents Itself.” The final day to submit is Friday, February 13, 2026.
As part of the excitement for @pola.con Bay Area in March, this show celebrates spontaneity, chance, and the material presence of instant film photography. The theme of this exhibition is open to all subject matter and instant film formats, including Polaroid and Instax. Three-dimensional or sculptural works incorporating instant film or instant film emulsion lifts will also be considered. Artists may submit up to five images. There is no fee to enter this open call.

We had a blast teaming up with local instant film artist Danny Sanchez @mrdannysanchez during this year’s PolaCon Bay Area 2025 @pola.con to explore the creative potential of the Leica SOFORT 2.
A dedicated instant film photographer, Danny brings years of experience to the format. For this collaboration, he put the SOFORT 2 through its paces: experimenting with its Film Effects and Optical Effects to see how this playful little camera interprets the world.
The result? A vibrant, imaginative take on instant photography that only Danny could deliver!
