Over this year-long journey, small, intimate cohorts will explore the thinkers, debates, and intellectual traditions that have shaped Islamic feminist thought, creating space for deep reading, honest questioning, and meaningful and nuanced dialogue.

Last night, I had the honor of hosting an Iftar at my home for our @mpvusa community in @mpvlachapter and friends. The evening began with a Mecca-style maghrib prayer led by me, followed by a heartfelt doa for those struggling with hunger, oppression, and violence, and concluded with delicious food and meaningful conversations.
It's already Ramadan and Lent seasons which means it's time for our community to come together to honor our differences and celebrate our commonalities. Same location as last year, raising money for #Palestine and mingle with those you haven't seen in awhile. Limited capacity so please register soon. That’s why a multifaith coalition, including Muslims for Progressive Values, the @intrfthalliance , @hindusforhumanrights , and the @sikhamericans , supported by @democracyforward and @americansunited , sued the Trump administration over its biased and unlawful “Religious Liberty Commission”.
Together with our friends in faith we are demanding that the government follow the law and respect the full diversity of belief in this country.

Muslims for Progressive Values invites you to the 11th Progressive Islam Curriculum Live Workshop, led by educator and MPV Board Member Kendra Cordova.
Join us as we continue our dive into Unit 6: Freedom of Religion and Belief and explore how diverse Muslim societies, from the Ottoman Empire to Iberian al-Andalus understood and protected religious freedom.
The workshop will close with a critical discussion of takfīr, its history, misuse, and the real dangers it poses to human rights and Islam’s core values and teachings.
