“When visitors enter the Canada Pavilion, they will encounter 3D printed structures that were originally fabricated in an ETH Zürich laboratory. These are the largest living material structures produced using a first-of-its-kind biofabrication platform capable of printing living structures at an architectural scale. The unique Picoplanktonics experience stems from adapting the Canada Pavilion to provide enough light, moisture, and warmth for the living cyanobacteria within the structures to grow, thrive and change. For the duration of the exhibition, caretakers will be onsite tending to the structures, emphasizing care and stewardship as essential elements of the design.” @andrea.s.ling @picoplanktonics @canada.council 📸 1) Ph @lorenzotruant ©M+B Studio, Venice / 2) Living Room Collective, Picoplanktonics (living structures in incubation chamber), 2025. “The project is the culmination of four years of collaborative research by Andrea Shin Ling and various interdisciplinary contributors. It is focused on harnessing the design principles of living systems to develop sustainable, intelligent and resilient materials and technologies for the future. By leveraging ancient biological processes alongside emergent technologies, it proposes designing environments under an ecology-first ethos.” @andrea.s.ling @picoplanktonics @canada.council 📸1) Ph @lorenzotruant ©M+B Studio, Venice / 2) Robotic biofabrication platform, ETH Zurich, 2024. Picoplanktonics - Canada Pavilion #BiennaleArchitettura2025 @labiennale “Picoplanktonics is an exploration of our potential to co-operate with living systems by co-constructing spaces that remediate the planet rather than exploit it. Amidst the ongoing global climate crisis, the Living Room Collective has developed a ground-breaking exhibition that showcases the potential for collaboration between humans and nature. […] As global carbon emissions continue to rise to untenable levels, Picoplanktonics presents a vision of how a regenerative system of construction could operate. It is an ongoing experiment centered on leveraging the reciprocal relationship between living structures, the built environment, and humans. In this way, the Living Room Collective is rethinking building principles and prioritizing ecological resilience beyond human species survival.” 📸Living Room Collective: Picoplanktonics, Canada Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, 2025. “The Kuwait Pavilion invites visitors to rethink the way we build and experience spaces, starting from the connection between space, time and matter. The project, titled _Kaynuna_, stems from a reflection on the architectural transformation of Kuwait, where modernization has often led to the demolition of existing heritage, rather than its enhancement.” Ph. SINGAPORE PAVILION 2025 – Rasa-Tabula-Singapura @labiennale “The menu of urban planning and architectural projects spotlights our unique ingredients, while complementary dishes celebrate social and design innovations from multicultural roots. More than a meal, the exhibition’s table is a forum where policy, history, and participatory design converge. Guided by data and AI, interactive exhibits trace Singapore’s urban evolution over 60 years and beyond.” 📸 Giorgio Schirato @giorgioschirato_photography @singapore.pavilion #singaporepavilion #BiennaleArchitettura2025 #exhibitionmanagement #pavilionamanagement #exhibitiondesign #artproduction #Venice

SINGAPORE PAVILION 2025 – Rasa-Tabula-Singapura @labiennale “Much like generative AI where variational inference condenses complex data into latent space, Singapore channels the flux of people, goods, ideas, and recipes into a vibrant cultural manifold — a robust intelligence shaped by history and geography.” 📸 Giorgio Schirato @giorgioschirato_photography @singapore.pavilion #singaporepavilion #BiennaleArchitettura2025 #exhibitionmanagement #pavilionamanagement #exhibitiondesign #artproduction #Venice

SINGAPORE PAVILION 2025 – Rasa-Tabula-Singapura @labiennale “Celebrating Singapore’s 60th anniversary, the 2025 Singapore Pavilion reimagines city-making as a dining experience fusing collective intelligence and innovation. At RASA-TABULA-SINGAPURA, taste Singapore’s diverse heritage. Inspired by Tabula Rasa (Latin for blank slate), the exhibition transforms it into RASA (taste in Mɑlɑy), TABULA (table), and SINGAPURA (Lion City in Sanskrit). Here, the exhibition team wants to honour superdiversity — a mosaic where global traditions hybridise into a uniquely Singaporean identity.” 📸 Giorgio Schirato @giorgioschirato_photography Project curated by Prof. Tai Lee Siang, Prof. Khoo Peng Beng, Prof. Dr. Erwin Viray, Dr. Jason Lim, Dr. Sam Conrad Joyce, Dr. Immanuel Koh Commissioned by Yap Lay Bee, Group Director (Architecture & Urban Design) Urban Redevelopment Authority; Dawn Lim, Executive Director DesignSingapore Council Organised by Singapore University of Technology and Design @singapore.pavilion #singaporepavilion #BiennaleArchitettura2025 #exhibitionmanagement #pavilionamanagement #exhibitiondesign #artproduction #Venice

“Industrial construction has severed our connection to place. Today’s globalised architecture often begins with the assumption of a ‘blank slate’ – sites imagined as empty, absolved of the need to understand or respond to local contexts, especially those that resist easy modelling. This approach has enormous scaling potential but it has come at a high price: the erosion of local ecologies, cultures, economies, and communities. What if we reversed this logic? What might architecture become if we began with place, not despite it?” 📸 @rasmus_hjortshoj The project is part of the exhibition curated by Carlo Ratti @crassociati at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia @labiennale Participants: 3XN | GXN, The Royal Danish Academy – Centre for Information Technology and Architecture @3xnarchitects @citacph Team members: @henryglogau & @aleksander_kongshaug @iuav_venezia Thanks: #havhoest #VejleFjordhave Sustain.Me @rios_intermitentes @cozzadiscardovaridop #AFROARTE @maria_magdalena_campos_pons #UniversidaddeMatanzas @mplusb_studio @barlbycarlsson @ingenioruddannelserne_paa_sdu @dtudk Founded by: @realdaniadk @statenskunstfond #KnudHøjgaardsFond #BeckettFonden @dreyersfond Supported by: @biomason @rambolldenmark @redbull #exhibitionmanagement #pavilionamanagement #exhibitiondesign #artproduction #Venice #BiennaleArchitettura2025

Local Resource / Collective Knowledge at the Arsenale responds to the Carlo Ratti’s call to engage multiple forms of intelligence: natural, artificial, and collective. This approach means understanding place—through mapping, listening and observing, but mostly actively engaging with local people, local skills, local needs. “Local Resource / Collective Knowledge is a platform for us to critically examine the foundations of global building practice. Exploring how to engage with locals in ways that preserve their richness, this project asks what architecture can learn from moving more openly between local immersion and global dialogue.” – Kåre Stokholm Poulsgaard, Partner and Head of Innovation at GXN. 📸 @rasmus_hjortshoj The project is part of the exhibition curated by Carlo Ratti @crassociati at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia @labiennale Participants: 3XN | GXN, The Royal Danish Academy – Centre for Information Technology and Architecture @3xnarchitects @citacph Team members: @henryglogau & @aleksander_kongshaug @iuav_venezia Thanks: #havhoest #VejleFjordhave Sustain.Me @rios_intermitentes @cozzadiscardovaridop #AFROARTE @maria_magdalena_campos_pons #UniversidaddeMatanzas @mplusb_studio @barlbycarlsson @ingenioruddannelserne_paa_sdu @dtudk Founded by: @realdaniadk @statenskunstfond #KnudHøjgaardsFond #BeckettFonden @dreyersfond Supported by: @biomason @rambolldenmark @redbull #exhibitionmanagement #pavilionamanagement #exhibitiondesign #artproduction #Venice #BiennaleArchitettura2025

“Local Resource / Collective Knowledge at the #BiennaleArchitettura2025 is an exploration of local ingenuity, revealing relationships between craft, community, local materials, and ecology. Three intertwining panels display site-specific collaborations. Each emerged from working with different local bio-materials, communities, and ways of making. Yet, the approach is one. Each collaboration is a catalyst for adaptation, displaying three different ways of dealing with a changing environment and turning disruptions into productive opportunities.” 📸 @rasmus_hjortshoj The project is part of the exhibition curated by Carlo Ratti @crassociati at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia @labiennale Participants: 3XN | GXN, The Royal Danish Academy – Centre for Information Technology and Architecture @3xnarchitects @citacph Team members: @henryglogau & @aleksander_kongshaug @iuav_venezia Thanks: #havhoest #VejleFjordhave Sustain.Me @rios_intermitentes @cozzadiscardovaridop #AFROARTE @maria_magdalena_campos_pons #UniversidaddeMatanzas @mplusb_studio @barlbycarlsson @ingenioruddannelserne_paa_sdu @dtudk Founded by: @realdaniadk @statenskunstfond #KnudHøjgaardsFond #BeckettFonden @dreyersfond Supported by: @biomason @rambolldenmark @redbull #exhibitionmanagement #pavilionamanagement #exhibitiondesign #artproduction #Venice
