Wer die letzten zwei, drei Jahre die Ohren in der House- und Techno-Szene offen hatte, kommt an Gaudenz aka mpeg kaum noch vorbei. Der Berliner hat sich mit seiner ganz eigenen Interpretation von Late-90s Progressive und Tech House in kürzester Zeit in die Herzen und auf die Dancefloors gespielt.
Releases auf Labels wie Permanent Vacation, Slump Recordings oder R.A.N.D. Muzik sprechen da für sich – genauso wie Gigs im Sisyphos, Kater Blau oder dem Dresdner Objekt klein a. Seine Produktionen treffen dabei genau den Sweet Spot zwischen dancefloor-tauglicher Energie und deepem Headphone-Listening.
Bei uns übernimmt mpeg am Samstag den wohl wichtigsten Slot des Wochenendes: Das Closing im Unterdeck nach fka.m4a. Wird emotional, wird sweaty, wird gut!
Excited to do a wee feature with @mpegmusic about his beauty of a debut album released a few weeks ago on @r.a.n.d.muzik .
Instead of doing a typical roundup of our favourite picks, it only seemed right to feature the album as a whole as it’s a cohesive ride that is best listened to from start to finish to get the proper experience. Ever-since getting the record, we’ve been hooked on it.
For us, this is some of the best put together and curated music we’ve heard in recent times. You can already tell before listening it’s going to be something great with such incredibly nice artwork too.
A proper journey through a tasty palette of sounds. One that matches our tastes perfectly - atmospheric, progressive, spacious and has each track always feeling like its seamlessly building somewhere. There always seem to be delicate, fresh and smooth layers weaving in and out of the deep grooves and lush spaces he’s created. Loads of great moments throughout with airy pads, warm chords, colourful but stripped back melodies and silky rhythms.
Definitely one that strikes the balance between a good home listening experience and club-ready vibes. Enjoy as much as we have 😊🍃

@mpegmusic has an array of his own productions, featuring on @haws_music , @r.a.n.d.muzik , @slumprecordings and @semidelicious , just to name a few. Along with his productions have come many collaborations, like his recent release on @haws_music featuring a @spray.forever remix, aswell as a @blisssinc remix.

Our next artist we want to introduce to you for our event at Kater on Sunday is mpeg!
@mpegmusic , based in Dresden, has been making waves in the electronic music scene since his debut EP on Slump Recordings in 2022. Following this release, he gained recognition through numerous projects on well-established labels such as Permanent Vacation, Haws, Semi Delicious, and Wex. His productions and DJ sets are heavily influenced by the late ‘90s Progressive and Tech House sound, focusing on reinterpreting the raw groove and energy of that era.
mpeg will play his debut at @katerblaugram on Sunday paired up with our PAN TONE allstar @dorianfecht . We are really looking forward to the spectacle and the many grooves that will pull us across the dance floor.
in addition to the three original tracks by LFL, tactual’s first release features a remix from close friend of the label @mpegmusic . based in Dresden, he released his first ep in 2022 and has since released a flurry of skilful and intricate records. in his remix of ‘Lust’, mpeg presents a warmer side to dancefloor functionality.
gaudenz has been responsible for a lot of behind the scenes help with the label, and we are both super grateful to have his music as part of our first release. shouts and love to him <33
