This project was monumental. We waited until the entire installation was complete to properly showcase its full context and scale. This is the largest public artwork in the southern hemisphere at 7km in total length. A huge thank you to everyone involved. @nixon__studio @kylehughesodgers @peacockvisuals @artifyconsulting @hassell_studio @maxipm.au @creativealliance.pty @joshbirtwistle @skatesculpture

We are thrilled to be announced as a finalist for the 2026 Dulux Colour Awards for our project Moving Colour in the category of Commercial and Multi Residential Exterior. We’re up against some beautiful projects with the winners announced at the Gala Event in Sydney in May. Thanks to all the judges for the selection. @nixon__studio @kylehughesodgers #movingcolour #duluxcolourawards #publicart #artwork Photography: @peacockvisuals

As part of the Linewide artwork trail we ran a series of creative workshops with local primary school children, inviting them to draw and talk about the area they live in and how it makes them feel. Selected drawings were then scaled up and painted along the line — small drawings transformed into huge outcomes that celebrate local identity, imagination, and energy. It was inspiring to give young minds a voice. It was important to capture the local energy of the project through time - the youth looking forward and an older generation reflecting on the growth and hope for the future of their community. Before finalising the overall concept, we ran a series of creative workshops with local seniors, inviting them to write, draw and talk about the area they live in, how it has changed and where they hope to see it moving. This was really important to ground our overall project concept around their ideas of local identity and legacy. It was important to capture the local energy of the project through time - the youth looking forward and an older generation reflecting on the growth and hope for the future of their community. ‘Moving Colour’, the final film for our monumental public art project, is nearly complete. Filmmaker @peacockvisuals follows skater Josh Birstwistle as he moves through the 7km artwork spanning six suburbs, revealing how the installation was designed to be experienced. As the largest public artwork in the Southern Hemisphere, the film is essential in conveying its scale and context. This is a still image taken from 16mm film in Welshpool, Western Australia. Full edit soon. Artists: @kylehughesodgers @nixon__studio Thanks: @hassell_studio @artifyconsulting @maxipm.au @peacockvisuals @creativealliance.pty #kylehughesodgers #chrisnixon #movingcolourstudio
