@collindfletcher and I self-published 250 copies of this book after nearly a year of editing and production with @janetkleinprintworks . We could have never imagined the response it would receive.
The memories it has stirred up for people across Los Angeles, the window into American life it has offered international readers, and the way it has found its way into so many homes as a vehicle for conversation and inspiration have meant more to us than we can put into words.
Whether or not there will be a second run that makes this retrospective more widely available is still TBD, but the mission has already succeeded far beyond our expectations.

10 years ago I released this compilation with Blackest Ever Black (RIP @blackesteverblack ) , bringing some of my favorite “underground/DIY” artists at the time to light — a melancholic yet vibrant array of post punk, dub, fragmented industrial, drone theatrics and ambient pop by Tropic of Cancer (@camellalobo ) , Carla Dal Forno, Exploring Jezebel, @cuthands , 500 Stamps (@veronicavasicka ), Dalhous, and more.
This label (and this release 🤓) laid the groundwork for so much greatness today (such as the Danish indie pop scene - Fine, ML Buch etc) and all the burgeoning shoegaze-y sounds (Chanel Beads, Cindy Lee and even Ethel Cain) .

One of the most highly anticipated releases this year— TEHRANGELES VICE— compiled by @discotchari , a groundbreaking expose into the vibrant world of 80s/90s “Tehrangeles” pop music, Persian pop produced in LA by the same legendary innovators and artists who realized the golden age of entertainment in pre-revolution Iran. If you remember and loved POMEGRANATES (60s/70s music from Iran from Finders Keepers Records!) then especially dig into this — a wonderful story and continuation of many of the same songwriters and producers who left Iran and set up shop in LA to continue making music 💫
