Rainbows and unicorns, no. But some notable similarities do exist when reindeer and the aurora make appearances:-)

Riding out an enormous polar low in Skjervoy, there’s time to cull though some of the highlights of our week, thus far;-) Reported 45’ seas are keeping our team and sailboat in the harbor until this evening— really a bit of welcome rest for our days ahead.
Such a special place to explore, the Lyngen and the surrounding wilds.

@chiappajon styling some steeps on the coldest of Saturdays 1/24/26 this season.
Things are likely looking different up there since the snow;-)

Not all is as it appears. Attractive as the climb is, Ryan and I found more sun than was welcome for this ascent of Diagonal. A totally spectacular position high on the Mordor wall, but I’ll for sure be climbing this on more overcast days or colder conditions, in the future.

Drone perspective and 📸 by @klementovich who absolutely nailed it.
Got to get out and photograph @b.grant.simmons and @lexisiegs on Repentence this morning. After we wrapped up we found these cats on Diagonal. That route is next on my list to photograph, such an amazing location for an ice climb, hope it hangs in there for a few more weeks.
Thanks @mountainsense and Ryan for not throwing snowballs at the drone.
Climbing the second pitch of Diagonal in the ☀️ on mostly dry rock is really nice… but it’s kind of a red flag for ice quality on the 3rd pitch pillar. Don’t ask me how I know.
Amazing positions, light, and shadows, climbing ice on the front of a buttress… “Scream Queen” above Easy Gully. And, conversely, tucked it the Gneiss folds of “Grand Illusion”.

Making an early season Dropline ascent with @b.grant.simmons is becoming a tradition. Great company and mild temps contributed to the fun this afternoon— 12/17/25.
For those who are interested, P1 was climbed on rock gear, dry / scrappy. P2 was runout to start, but quickly improved and protected well after the first 25’…
