A new piece done for a builder I've been a fan of for awhile. Moth Electric. As an amature lepidopterist myself, I had to show some love.
Sphecodina abbottii is a North American Sphinx Moth species that frequents Vitus sp. (grapes) for larval hosting. So I did my interpretation in honor of this beautiful moth and amazing distortion fuzz pedal.
Done with Kobra spray paint and Posca markers on 8x10" canvas board and sealed with acrylic spray.

Happy to report the S. abbottii preorders are starting to ship today, right on schedule. Had a bit of a hiccup with the powder, but my awesome enclosure fabricator got it figured out and crunched to get these to me on time. Very happy with the results. Have 100% of the PCBs and hardware built up and more enclosures arriving next week, so should have all preorders fulfilled on schedule. Full restock on all of my pedals once the last of these goes out the door. Have a good weekend, everyone.

My goals with the S. abbottii were to address some of the quirks, noise and instability of the circuit; improve viability at lower gain ranges while still allowing for the blown out insanity the perc is known for; provide granular control over the harmonic content and shrillness; and to preserve excellent volume knob cleanup despite the significant changes made to the circuit.
I feel that I succeeded in all of these goals. This thing gets downright mean but cleans up beautifully.
