Jack was so proud that he was able to pull this off during our trip. He saw a similar video online, and decided to secretly film me like this. Truth be told, he almost got caught a few times because the wind blew my hat off and I started to turn around, or I got impatient walking by myself, and would turn around to tell him to walk faster 😂 I didn’t understand why he was walking so slow behind me!
At the end of our trip, he gave me this video and I was so touched, I started crying all over again. I am so happy that he understands how much I love documenting life and memories, and even tried to create content for me! What a guyyyy 😌. Ok fine, I’ll say yes 💍

…and we got the oh-so-excellent news that a super typhoon 🌪️ is headed our way, disrupting so many of our friends’ and families travel plans to trek over to our destination wedding 🤡
While it is super stressful already planning for a wedding, this was definitely another unforeseen toadstool for us. We can’t control the weather, but we are so, so grateful for our family and friends who immediately rebooked everything to arrive earlier before the storm hits, or our friends who are doing everything they can to reroute their itinerary to make it on time. We will keep a positive mindset for the weather, hoping the typhoon won’t be as strong as predicted to affect everyone in general, and hope you all stay safe and dry!!!🤞🏻🤞🏻

When my mom asked me, “Why wasn’t there any red decor at the tea ceremony? It’s good luck”
I replied “You guys brought the red. You were my luck.”
By design, our tea ceremony was curated by @tearosewedding to be unconventionally against typical Chinese wedding norms to have a ton of red accents everywhere. Instead, our aesthetics had the most lush florals, with gold and glass accents inside a very idyllic glasshouse filled with elegant orchids overlooking the middle of a green pasture. I also requested that our families wear red, and they confusingly did so (as usually only the bride wears red), but when they showed up, they were all pleasantly surprised. ❤️ Hard to believe it was only the beginning, and tip of the iceberg on my wedding day, and it definitely set the tone for the rest of our very special day. 🤍

Being able to meaningfully embrace our heritage, and share the traditional tea ceremony custom with our loved ones, and even receiving blessings from those unable to attend was such a beautiful honour for us 🙏🏻. (Honestlyyyy the things my parents said to me? Wishing me a good life and all that stuff? What?! I always just thought they wished I would be a doctor or something. Cue the tears 🥹)
