🤍 It’s always good to look back and see how far you’ve come.
Welcome to AdBreak — a moment of pause, reflection, and appreciation.
This August at Mosiima, we’re taking a trip down memory lane.
From “Is fashion school worth it?” to life after graduation, from starting a fashion brand to everything I’ve learned in this whirlwind year of building Mosiima — I’m opening up about it all.
Think of this as the behind-the-scenes of my journey as a fashion designer.
The highs, the lows, the lessons, and the moments that made it all worth it.
I hope you’ll join me this month as we reflect, reconnect, and remind ourselves why we started.

Honoured to be selected as one of the Top 10 Finalists for the @allfashionsourcing_cpt Young Designers Competition 🐚✨
🤍 Designing this piece titled “mosadi” challenged me in ways I never imagined, from sleepless nights to learning new techniques, every moment was a step forward in my journey as a designer. Grateful for the growth, the experience, and the incredible opportunity to tell a story through fashion.
🫶🏽 Thank you @allfashionsourcing_cpt for believing in young talent and creating spaces like this for us to shine.
mosiima
A name chosen, then inherited.
Founded by Rethabile Mosima Molefe, mosiima draws from a lineage of designers who have named their houses after themselves - Thebe Magugu, Rich Mnisi, Ragh Coetzee. Yet mosiima is more than a self-title. It is an unfolding.
The doubling of i’s is deliberate. A gesture toward individuality and mirrored belonging. An invitation to find oneself within the brand and beside another.
Only later, through layered family conversations, did Rethabile discover that mosiima, her second name, was not just hers. It was passed down from her grandmother, a woman remembered for hands that stitched instinctively, for a spirit that lingered long after she was gone.
This collection honors that legacy.

🧶 Design Diaries: The Making of The Missing Middle
A few weeks ago, I hosted my very first masterclass—an honest look into what it really takes to create a fashion collection from start to finish. From inspiration and design to sourcing fabric and producing the final looks, I took you through every step of the process.
It was such a beautiful moment getting to share, reflect, and answer your questions.
If you missed it, don’t worry—the full session is now live on my YouTube channel! 🎥
Here’s to many more masterclasses and growing together 🤍

@mosiima_ to the WORLD 🌍💞
💚 The Missing Middle by @mosiima_ Look 4 – The Working Class
From High Schooler to Student to Graduate—now you’re finally in the world of work. But what many don’t see is how the effects of being in the Missing Middle still live within you.
You can now afford the things you once dreamed of—your true style, your personal taste. But with that freedom often comes overconsumption. Buying more than you need, simply because you finally can.
This look is a tribute to that moment. Draped in leftover fabric from Look 3, it reflects the past—when you had to make the best with what you had—but styled as extravagantly and boldly as possible. Because now, you get to show the world who you really are.
