I keep on being asked by technology if I want to improve my videos. As if there is always a better version from the truth. Or maybe the publish version is better than the raw one. I have No edits. The dance, the garden, the sky the music ‘arrabi al Arabe ‘ by Marien Hassan. All there to say this is it. Not perfect. Like life.
WE’RE BACK! It's been a minute since you last heard from us. You may be wondering what we have been up to. The short answer: something really exciting. We are pleased to share that as of January 2025, The Workshop has become a signature project of the Jewish arts and culture organization Reboot, deepening a partnership that's been championing the work and careers of JOCSM (Jews of Color, Sephardi, Mizrahi) artists since 2021. What does this mean? In addition to the fellowship’s original goal of creating an intimate community for Jewish artists of Color, fellows now get direct access to Reboot's incredible network, priority access to grants, and increased career support. With founder Kendell Pinkney still at the helm, The Workshop has evolved into a creative accelerator that can go deeper in its commitment to each arts fellow. To that end, we can't wait to introduce you to the four extraordinary artists in our 2025-2027 cohort.
🎭 Mor Mendel — performance artist & choreographer
✍️ Noah Keyishian — actor & writer
🎬 Adam Shaukat — stage/screen actor, writer & producer
🎶 Lily Henley — singer-songwriter & ethnomusicologist
Over the next two years, these fellows will meet regularly, receive artistic mentorship, and project support as they deepen their personal creative practices. These artists represent a vibrant cross-section of contemporary Jewish artistic practice, each bringing unique cultural inheritances and creative visions.
Welcome, 2025 Fellows! 🌟

Transitioning into winter. Time slips away while I’m trying to decide how, where, until when. Maxi (my 4.5 year old son) said this dance is cool. Cool and beautiful he said. Some things are simple I guess.
All the love, memories, pains and joys.
It’s not your mind that tells the story of your life, it’s your breath. And it’s your dance.
Movment workshop this October 7th to let ourselves be with all that we are. Tickets through @theneighborhoodbk . Music: Maxence Cyrin
On October 7th, we will gather in the Sukkah for an exploratory movement workshop shaped by breath, imagery, music, and gentle structures for processing. Facilitated by dance artist Mor Mendel, we will practice simple body exercises and prompts, and connect with each other as well as ourselves, working both alone and with partners. Come as you are, leave having listened deeply to the knowledge of your beating heart.

The dance will hold us.
And if we fear we let our body tell us how good it is to move, so the fear moves, so the fear can travel to places where our courage and joy tell it, it’s okay , your safe to simply be you and dance. Music by @asafavidanmusic ♥️

Memories of my dance and the wind, feeling it together in Portugal.
Dance is the language of everything that we are: our senses, our emotions, our personal life, our culture, our heart.
Holding space this July for this dance to live. It’s not a place to perform anything, rather to move our life through our own dance.
With ease, with bravery, with honesty.
With everything that we are at that exact moment of the dance .
You can let me know you’re coming.
You can just show up.
