Star Wars has been an integral part of my life. The movies, the books, the legos, my brother and I even had learning computer games with Yoda’s Challenge. It’s always been near and dear to my heart. So, being able to work on this set for The Acolyte cast to speak to their experience filming the new show, just starts to bring everything to a full circle. I can now say “hey look! Diving further into the wondrous, absurd and mysterious world of @dreameatersociety , this story investigates the dangers that are conspiring to destroy the Society. Written by @moustachemax and me, this story includes our absolute favorite things: adventure, a noire detective, many strange creatures, absurdity, manacle laughter, Nightmares, and most importantly all of our friends (and almost my entire family… thank you family). This was taken directly after I just squatted 225lbs (twice 🥳). For the past several months Gauntlet has been my happy place, surrounded by incredible humans and insane support. I saw this picture of how happy I look, how proud of myself I am. Then immediately noticed my stomach. Living in LA, existing in the film industry, growing up in the 90s, all of this Ozempic weight loss bullshit, that to be beautiful or sexy is to be skinny has been shoved down our throats. And it’s taken until Gauntlet where I’m mentally turning a corner to say fuck that shit. I want to be strong. Not skinny. I want to be able to help someone up if they fall. I want to protect someone if it comes to it. I deadlifted 230lbs today and that’s sick! I want to be a strong boi!! So, here’s to another year come and gone. May this year be filled with more garage cheers and being the strongest bois, being with loved ones, supporting important beautiful art, wine nights with long talks and gettin weird. Get strong. Happiest of happy birthdays to the person who makes the days worth waking up for. I think anyone who knows Max, is instantly taken by his creativity, charm, big smile, and wonder. Those who are lucky enough to get to know him will be enamored because of his wit, humor and the depth of his love. Max treats everyday like a new experience. Learns something new, listens to a new artist, watches a new movie. I think we could all take a page from his lesson book and live life with the same verve. My brain is mushy from this weekend and I’m feeling mushy as well. It’s only been 2 years since @moustachemax and I were welcomed into the Blasphemous arms of the @blasphemeet community. From the moment I met all of y’all, I desperately wanted to be a part of it. A safe space to be yourself, I could take a breath and feel at ease. The creativity, the art, the humanity and humor and care and love…it was the event I looked forward too the most because it felt like a family reunion (one you actually want to go to).
