Hi there, the new Circle bros lp is out today.a bit uncomfortable to announce since, well, circle bros is me, morc-founder Wim Lecluyse. i've been working on this one for quite a while (7 years since the last full length!) , but i'm happy with the songs, the way they sound, and even the handprinted sleeve (2 colours, five layers - ask me about the details if you're interested in that kind of thing!) anyway: hear/order the album via links in bio/stories etc - the lp costs 20 euro, and comes on gorgeous clear vinyl. you can combine with other morc or circle bros releases, and get 3 for 50 euro. the short promotext: * A rare solo album by morc-founder Wim Lecluyse. Semi-improvised songs built from fractured melodies, hushed sounds, repetitive patterns and details that are hard to place. The influence of 90s/00s lo-fi and post-folk comes through more clearly than on previous albums, both in the structures and in the sound palette. A gentle and focused record — i guess that's something we can all use right now. but of course: listening is better. and listening twice before making up your mind is even more recommended. hope you'll enjoy the album! Wim / Morc

happy release day: 'Unfurling' by Pefkin is out now. really happy to share this one with you - it's the fourth time we're putting out a full length lp of hers (not counting the split lp with roxane métayer), and it's safe to say: she's one of the rare artists that gets better with every single release. hear it via /pefkin-unfurling.html , or links in bio/stories etc. The familiar Pefkin elements are present: melodies that unfold patiently and graciously, with textures so vivid they feel almost tangible. Across six tracks, around forty minutes in total, the album is more focused than ever, with instruments and sounds flowing seamlessly into one another, leaving ample space for each melody to breathe. Pefkin creates her own microclimate, an environment both intimate and expansive. the lp comes in a screenprinted sleeve, with insert and download code, and is yours for 20 euro + shipping. and yes, this album is also part of the ongoing '3 for 50 euro' deal. a selection of great distro's will have this one in stock as well (list in comments). of course, this one is up on bandcamp too, but we can get the shipping done a couple of euro's cheaper if you order directly via us. but in any case: enjoy the album, it's great! thanks again, Wim /morc

The pandemic is but a vague memory. Remember when we had to settle for livestreams instead of shows? I recall a few good ones, but this is my favorite, maybe because i was allowed to attend the recording? On mother's day 2021, exactly five years ago, Annelies Monseré did a pianoset at Oort in Gent. Special guest: eierkop on backing vocals. Quite the show. I still sometimes think about it. It's still on YouTube, just look for 'annelies monseré oort'. (Tomorrow is mother's day. Happy mother's day to all of you)

"Ein vielschichtiger, melodischer Sound, der zugleich eine unterschwellige Bedrohlichkeit und Spannung in sich trägt. (...) Subtile Songansätze blitzen immer wieder auf, ohne sich vollständig festzulegen, und verleihen dem Album eine zugleich konzentrierte und fließende Qualität" great (German!) review of the circle bros lp at African Paper. nice to read someone hears the (vague) postpunk-influences on the album! link to the review in stories, album via linkinbio.

last week's episode of morcfm can now be re-listened. -> morctapes.com/morcfm , or links in bio/stories we released the circle bros lp 'wade' just days before this episode. so, that asks for a special. but since morcfm is hosted by the person from circle bros, we thought it'd be nice to focus on the people mentioned in the credits of this album. so we'll talk about Owen, Annelies, Michael, Chris, Jessica and Jochen. Most of them make music, so we talk about their music as well - we get to play a surprising amount of new releases that way. seems like our friends are pretty productive these days. * Circle bros - Vinegar (from the lp 'wade', Morc records, 2026) * The Dengie Hundred with Gemma Blackshaw - Pool of tears (from the lp 'Days in pieces', Tain records, 2026) * Annelies Monseré - Just Minimalize (for Julie) (from the 2lp 'Minimalize your reworks', Cortizona, 2026) * Water is the sun - Charmed of lesser beasts (from the lp/tape 'Ritual fever', Trome/Tocco magico, 2026) * Lowered - Distance flooded us (from the cd 'Music for empty rooms', Morc records, 2020) * Clear horizon - For days (from the cd/lp 'Clear horizon', Kranky, 2003) * Arab Strap - New birds (from the cd/2lp 'Philophobia', Chemikal underground, 1998) #morcfm

'It’s so gentle, slight, almost not there and yet utterly captivating. Liking the double-edged sword of breath in-breath out ‘Inbound’ and the gentle pulsating of ‘Outbound’ Very nice words about the circle bros lp in moonbuilding weekly. Great to see someone connected the dots between those two. (Lp available via morc & the usual suspects)

"These are the songs of the in-between, the ghosts that walk your house at night, the thoughts that emerge in the mind's eye as you lie sleeplessly alone. We all know that sound. It's always been there. Wade proves itself a vessel for that kind of song. " Nice words for the circle bros lp via @worldofechomusic - our favorite recordshop in the uk. seems they've already ran out of copies though? do know the lp is also available via these reliable sources (or will be in the next few days!) @consouling (be), @objectsandsounds (be), vynilla (be), out of print (be), @popcultureshop75 (fr), @bisaufsmesserrecords (de), @elmuelle1931.shop (es) @soundohm (it), @tobirarecords (jap) . and of course: via our own site, or our bandcamp. thanks for listening!

last year, our loyal distributor Clear Spot went out of business. which was (is) a bummer: they've always been very supportive, and reliable. after about a year, we got the remaining stock back - happy that these will not gather dust forever.... this is including a few gems that were already sold out via us for quite some time. which means these are available again - in all cases just a handful of copies though: - soccer Committee: sC (cd) - the puddle parade: Origami (cd) - Roxane Métayer: Éclipse des ocelles (lp - repress on red vinyl) - Luster: Luster (lp, repress) - Linus Vandewolken: Oude Geuze uit Niemandaal (lp) - Edgar Wappenhalter: IJsschots Veenlaag Mist (lp) last chance ever to get these via us! as usual: even these titles are part of the '3 lps for 50 euro' or '3 cds for 20 euro' deal. get them via our site or bandcamp - links in bio/stories etc.

it's spring, and we have a new release (almost) ready. Circle Bros is back with a new full length: 'Wade' - the first one since 2018, and the first one on morc since 2010! disclaimer: circle bros is me, wim lecluyse, who runs morc. so: this is kind of a weird one to announce/promote, but however: i'm pretty proud of this one! so: expect semi-improvised songs built from fractured melodies, hushed sounds, repetitive patterns and details that are hard to place. The influence of 90s/00s lo-fi and post-folk comes through more clearly than on previous albums, both in the structures and in the sound palette. A gentle and focused record — i guess that's something we can all use right now. --> /circlebros-wade.html (link in stories / bio etc) the record is out on april 27th - i've screenprinted the sleeves myself, the lp is pressed on high quality german clear vinyl, and well: i'm pretty happy with the result; the lp costs 20 euro + shipping - preorders are available now. it'll be available via some nice distro's as well, as usual. -- other releases for the occasion, we also made some older circle bros releases on other labels available here, as a bundle. great if you want to dive in for a cheap price. pick three for 50 euro (and why not: combine with morc releases is possible too, just let us know!) thanks for everything. really. Avond. 🔥 📸 @no_pics_photography
