Introducing House Jacoby by @lucy_clemenger_architects , a stunning blend of heritage and modern architecture. This project, named for its direct access to Jacoby Reserve, a charming neighbourhood park, showcases a dynamic intersection of old and new.
Step inside and you’ll find interiors that read like a decadent fashion journal. The traditional front room is bathed in Yves Klein blue, hinted at by a blue hand-blown Syrian glass light in the hallway. “The rooms in the heritage house are charged with rich saturated colours using paint, tiles, and joinery,” explains Lucy. “In contrast, the contemporary addition utilises a more restrained palette.”
The architectural and stylistic contrast is striking. The transition between the two buildings is seamlessly managed, with concealed stairs connecting the house’s levels and hidden powder room and laundry.
