Radermecker. 👉 This issue invites us to rethink the art market beyond clichés and purely commercial logic A market that appears as: ➡️ a space for the circulation of objects… and meanings ➡️ a place where values, expertise and legitimacy are redefined ➡️ an observatory of contemporary transformations 📲 The magazine is available here: /media/8567-magazine_issue12-final.pdf 🙏 Thank you to everyone involved in this publication, in particular the teams at GRESAC and MOOVA for their contribution ! #ArtMarket #ArtResearch #ENCATC #CulturalEconomics #ArtAndCulture

At @moova_erc , we study objects that carry cultural and economic meaning – furniture from Liège is one of them. Furniture from Liège, which originated in 18th-century Belgium, is known for its elegant simplicity and fine craftsmanship. Cabinets, wardrobes, desks, and bookcases were the most prized forms, crafted mainly in light oak and carefully varnished to reveal the natural grain. Ash was often used for chairs, linden for tables – materials chosen for both beauty and function. Unlike heavier styles, Liège furniture is never massive. Its clean forms followed Parisian trends while remaining rooted in local proportions and techniques. In the picture: Commode rococo assagi a from private collection (photo by Pierre Bernard). Forms derived from rococo phases remain present, but with more severe decoration, featuring rosettes, pearls, water leaves, dentils, fluting, twists, ribbons, laurels, lightened trophies, and other motifs inspired by antiquity. #LiègeFurniture #BelgianAntiques #DecorativeArts

MOOVA - Rethinking the Value of Ordinary Antiques In this video, Anne-Sophie, Principal Investigator of @moova_erc , shares the origins, ambitions, and challenges behind this interdisciplinary research initiative. Drawing on her academic background in cultural economics, she explains how MOOVA explores the contemporary economy of ordinary antiques - objects that circulate daily between heritage, decoration, and second-hand consumption. The project brings together researchers, professionals, and institutions to better understand how these objects are preserved, marketed, valued, and re-imagined today, particularly in the context of more sustainable consumption. Curious about the research behind ordinary antiques? Follow us to learn more! #OrdinaryAntiques #CulturalEconomics #HeritageResearch

We’re starting the year with a good tip ✨ For our research on ordinary antiques, we relied on @antiquites_brocante_officiel , a magazine that has been guiding collectors and buyers since 1997, and remains a true goldmine of information. This French publication has helped make visible an often opaque market, offering insights into prices, trends, restoration, and the voices of dealers, collectors, and consumers alike. More than a guide, it’s a living archive of how antiques are valued, circulated, and reimagined today. 💬 Share with us your tips that guide you in your search for antiques. #Antiques #Brocante
